Trailer For The New Walking Dead Spinoff Series Follows a Generation Born Into a Dead World

AMC has released the first trailer for their upcoming new Walking Dead spinoff series which centers around a group of teens who have been born and raised in a world of zombies.

The series doesn’t have a title yet, but it will tell the story of these teens as they leave their comfort zone an venture out into the zombie-infested world in search for hope and because they want to see what the rest of the undead world is like. But they are warned that they “should be scared every time — every single time you are outside those walls.”

It kinda feels like Friday Night Lights but with zombies. I don’t know, maybe it was just the music used in the trailer. Regardless, it’s definitely a very different take on the franchise than what we’ve previously seen.

I’m not sure what to expect from this.

‘The Walking Dead’ Third Show: Life a Decade After Zombie Apocalypse (Watch)

  • Variety
‘The Walking Dead’ Third Show: Life a Decade After Zombie Apocalypse (Watch)
Nearly a decade after the start of the zombie apocalypse as shown in “The Walking Dead” and “Fear the Walking Dead” comes a third new drama in that universe. Although it is still untitled, the show has been in production and AMC just released a trailer for it.

In it, a character named Iris (played by “The Red Line’s” Aliyah Royale) gives a speech about how her dad is fighting for the future and “to get us back to where we were.” But it clearly won’t be easy. As she follows, “It may take generations to reach the level of sophistication our science will need.”

Although the characters in this new show start the story in seeming comfort and safety in an enclosed environment, they soon venture out in the larger, undead world, being told they “should be scared every time — every single time you are outside those walls.

Third Walking Dead Series: Watch the First Trailer

What would you do if you grew up in a world filled with zombies?

For the teens at the wheel of the third series set in The Walking Dead universe, that is their very existence.

The official trailer for the series was revealed at New York Comic-Con today, and it gave us our first glimpse of this new world.

From the get-go, it appears that the producers are trying to target a younger audience with this one, and that may or may not be a good idea.

Going with a younger cast will certainly set it apart from the other two series in the franchise, but it will also bring with it a lot of melodrama.

New Images From the Upcoming Untitled The Walking Dead Spin-off Gives Us Our First In-Depth Look at the Series

We have our first in-depth look at the upcoming The Walking Dead spin-off series that is yet to have a name, but is beginning to build excitement. From the Walking Dead panel at San Diego Comic-Con this summer, and the teaser that was released shortly after, we know that this series will follow a group we have never met before that has been surviving the zombie apocalypse in a community that has not faced as many trials as the groups we have followed up to now. This group has a bunch of teens that have grown up in this post-apocalyptic world, but fairly sheltered. They are looking to strike out and see what the world around them is truly like. For those of us who have been watching the last nine years, we know that’s probably not a great idea, and they do not sound ready for what is in store.

Here's Your First Look at the Third Walking Dead Series

Ever since a third series set in The Walking Dead universe was announced, there's been a lack of details about it.

The show is already in production, but we don't even have a title.

Thankfully, AMC dropped a batch of photos ahead of the show's debut at New York Comic-Con on Thursday.

Already, it's clear the show is a departure from parent series The Walking Dead and first spinoff, Fear the Walking Dead.

The cast is younger, and it certainly drives home the fact that we'll be following a bunch of characters who grew up in the apocalypse.

AMC placed an order for this new series back in April.

It comes from Scott M. Gimple and longtime writer Matt Negrete and “feature two young female protagonists and focuses on the first generation to come-of-age in the apocalypse as we know it."
