Pitch: Season Two; Cancelled Baseball Drama Not Being Revived

Bad news for Pitch fans. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the cancelled Fox TV show will not be revived for a second season.

From Dan Fogelman, the baseball drama follows the inspirational story of a young pitcher (Kylie Bunbury) who becomes the first woman to play Major League Baseball. The cast also includes Mark-Paul Gosselaar, Ali Larter, Mark Consuelos, Dan Lauria, Mo McRae, Meagan Holder, and Tim Jo.

American Black Film Festival To Feature ‘The Black Godfather’, Spike Lee, HBO Short Film Finalists And More
This year’s American Black Film Festival lineup is stacked with some of the top names in Hollywood as well as emerging voices including a screening of Reginald Hudlin’s The Black Godfather, a conversation with Spike Lee and his protege Stefon Bristol as well as the five finalists for HBO Short Film Competition, which is now in its 22nd year. The fest takes place June 12-16 in Miami.

The program will also include the previously announced opening night film Shaft. New Line Cinema’s reboot of the iconic character will screen at the fest ahead of its June 14 release. In addition, Netflix will screen the Chris Robinson-directed Beats, a coming-of-age drama set in Chicago’s South Side hip-hop scene starring Anthony Anderson.

‘Poldark’ & ‘Valley Girl’ Star Josh Whitehouse Leads Cast In ‘The Happy Worker’, David Lynch Execs
Poldark and Valley Girl star Josh Whitehouse will lead cast in blockchain outfit SingularDTV’s The Happy Worker alongside Thomas Haden Church, Colm Meaney and Meagan Holder.

Production is under way in Utah on the movie, which is executive-produced by David Lynch and is being directed by Lynch’s long-time collaborator Duwayne Dunham (Twin Peaks). Rhys Mitchell, J.R. Starr and Amy Shiels round out the cast.

The film follows Joe (Whitehouse) who lives in a utopian community. A reluctant hero eager to please his wife (Holder) and his boss (Haden Church), he unexpectedly finds himself thrust into a position of power by ‘Clete’ (Meaney) and must battle to save what he and others have spent years building.

Pic is based on S.E. Feinberg’s play, which was first performed in 1982 at the Actors Theatre of Louisville. The play was adapted for the screen by Feinberg, Jerold Pearson and director Dunham.

Scream” star Amadeus Serafini has scored his first major movie role, joining John Cena and Jackie Chan in the independent action-thriller “Project X,” Variety has learned exclusively.

Scott Waugh is directing from a script by Arash Amel. The project had formerly been titled “Ex-Baghdad” and is set at a Chinese-run oil refinery in the Middle East.

Serfaini will portray an American mercenary and Chan will play a Chinese private security contractor who is tasked with extracting oil workers from a refinery that’s been attacked. Char’s character is teamed up with a former U.S. Marine (Cena), when he learns that the attackers’ real plan is to steal the oil.

‘UnReal’ Accepts Hulu’s Proposal For a Fourth and Final Season — Starting Right Now

Hulu has finally confirmed that Lifetime drama “UnReal” is moving to the streaming service for its fourth season. And here’s a twist: It’s debuting on Hulu today. And here’s another twist: This is, indeed, the series’ final season.

It’s a surprise move befitting “Everlasting,” the dating competition show-within-a-show that is the centerpiece of “UnReal.” Word of a deal between Hulu and series producer A+E Studios first leaked in May, but was never formally announced until today’s final reveal.

As part of the deal, “UnReal” will now be branded as a Hulu Original Series. Hulu already carries the off-net runs of the first three seasons of “UnReal,” which means the entire library — including all eight episodes of Season 4 — will be available on the service as of today.

‘UnReal’: Final Season 4 Debuts On Hulu

The fourth and final season of Lifetime’s UnReal is now available for streaming in its entirety on Hulu. As part of a new deal between Hulu and A+E Studios, the final installment joins the first three seasons of the Peabody Award-winning drama series from Sarah Gertrude Shapiro and Marti Noxon. Deadline reported in May that Lifetime had sold the fourth season to Hulu for a first run. Hulu had previously acquired the exclusive Svod rights to the show in 2016.

Season 4 follows Rachel (Shiri Appleby) and Quinn (Constance Zimmer) as they return to the set of Everlasting for an “All-Stars” themed season, which features former contestants and a new format. Co-creator Shapiro and showrunner Stacy Rukeyser both return for Season 4. New cast members include François Arnaud, Natalie Hall, Meagan Holder and Alejandro Muñoz. Zimmer returns as director for one episode, and Appleby directs two episodes, including the series finale.

“UnReal” fans got a special treat on Monday when Hulu made the entire fourth and final season of the former Lifetime drama available to stream with no warning.

As TheWrap previously reported, Hulu made a deal with “UnReal” producers A+E Studios to be the new home for the show’s fourth outing, which has now officially been confirmed as the show’s last.

Season 4 follows Rachel (Shiri Appleby) and Quinn (Constance Zimmer) as they return to the set of the dating show-within-a-show “Everlasting” for an “All Stars” themed season. With former contestants, and a new format, it is poised to be even more dramatic than ever.

Beginning today, July 16, Hulu is streaming the final eight episodes of UnREAL, which has been quietly cancelled after four seasons.

As previously rumored, Season 4 has moved to Hulu as part of a new deal struck between the streaming service and A+E Studios. There is no word yet if the episodes will eventually air on Lifetime.

Inspiration Awards Benefiting Step Up Raises Nearly $500,000

On Friday, June 1, Step Up hosted its annual Inspiration Awards, presented by The Coach Foundation.

They welcomed 800 guests to a luncheon and reception benefitting Step Up’s confidence building programs for girls, and honored Regina Hall and Step Up teen Vivi for their commitment to this cause. Step Up believes all girls should have the opportunity to fulfill their potential, and the Inspiration Awards raise 45% of the funds Step Up needs to reach girls in the Los Angeles community for one year. This year’s celebration raised nearly $500,000.
