Loosely based on the filmmaker’s experiences, the short’s protagonist Margaret (Young) has been…

New Character Details Revealed for Season 3 of MTV’s Scream

Alien Day in April may have been filled with Xenomorph-related news, but MTV took center stage by announcing that season 3 of Scream will feature an entirely new cast, story, and setting. While fans of the show are still saying goodbye to the Lakewood survivors from the first two seasons, character details for the series' new group of high schoolers have been revealed.

TVLine has unveiled the details for five characters from the upcoming third season of Scream. While these descriptions are likely a good template of what to expect, don't be surprised if the exact names and all of the details don't translate fully to the screen versions of the characters, as sometimes the casting information isn't 100% used in the final product.

From TVLine: "* First up is Dion, a Michael B. Jordan-esque football player on track to score a college scholarship — that is, until a masked killer uses Dion’s darkest secrets against him,

“Hello Emma, miss me?” This uttered line from the new killer of Scream on MTV sets the edge-of-your-seat tone for the two-hour Halloween special of the slasher-horror series. Performer of the Week: Winona Ryder

Performer of the Week: Winona Ryder
The Performer | Winona Ryder

The Show | Stranger Things

The Episode | “The Body” (Episode 4)

The Performance | No one was ever going to mistake Stranger Things‘ high-strung Joyce for someone who has an easy time keeping it together. So we were all the more moved that, when Chief Hopper informed the single mom that her son Will was dead, Ryder made sure we saw her character trying — and trying heartbreakingly hard — to sound reasonable, even as she was explaining how she knew he was still alive.

Joyce had just talked to Will through the Christmas lights, you see. “One blink for yes,

Scream: The TV Series Season 2 Episode 6 Review – ‘Jeepers Creepers’

Martin Carr reviews the sixth episode of Scream: The TV Series season 2…

Name checking torture porn slasher flicks has now become par for the course in Scream. Text messaging gifs, red herrings thrown into the mix in order to flummox your audience and creepy locations are all expected. Tongue in cheek voice over, subtle nods to an all too aware viewing public and cultural relevance, make Scream not only infinitely watchable but hugely enjoyable.

These O.C. clones are all chiselled, good looking and far from stupid, yet find themselves in increasingly ridiculous situations. Even those characters perceived as uncool, lacking in a healthy glow and existing on the periphery are accidentally handsome. This is no complaint, rant or other diversionary tactic, just someone stating a fact. Because these factors help define and reassure us that we exist in a specific genre, acknowledge certain things as a given and therefore can expect few surprises.
