Birds of Prey Is Not a Suicide Squad Sequel, But Does Continue Harley's Story

Birds of Prey Is Not a Suicide Squad Sequel, But Does Continue Harley's Story
The wonderfully eccentrically titled Birds of Prey (and the fantabulous emancipation of Harley Quinn) writer, Christina Hodson, has provided some clarity as to where the film sits with regards to it's sort-of-predecessor. Hodson recently spoke about the spin-off, discussing her approach to making the movie, and has said that Birds of Prey will continue the story of Harley Quinn, describing it as a 'standalone story' as opposed to a direct sequel to David Ayer's bad guy team-up, 2016's Suicide Squad.

Christina Hodson went on to describe how she wanted to write a story that could progress Harley Quinn's story, without following any particular narrative that came before.

"Obviously, yes, it's a character we have met before, but it's really its own story, and that's kind of how I approached it. I just tried to take myself off-leash. I fell in love with this character, and then all of these other new characters.

Chris Pine Set to Play John Dean, Richard Nixon's Attorney in Upcoming Film for Amazon

Chris Pine is set to play historical figure John Dean in an upcoming feature film for Amazon. Dean was the White House counsel, and a pivotal cog in the Watergate scandal in the early 1970s. The film will actually consult with Dean himself, who will serve as executive producer on the project. The script is being written by Evan Parter.

Variety gives us the following description of Dean’s role in history, as well as his character:

Billed by the press as a “connoisseur of cover-ups,” Dean became a crucial Nixon whistle-blower by offering testimony that implicated the president in the historic cover-up. In exchange, he served four months of house arrest and plead guilty to obstruction of justice. He’s since written numerous books and serves as a political commentator. In recent years, he’s been highly critical of the Republican party and President Donald Trump.

A Wonder Woman 1984 Set Photo Has Started the Rumor Mill Turning

Wonder Woman was a ray of hope in a flailing Dceu. It has turned into a superhero movie that I enjoy watching every time it is on. I am truly excited to see what Patty Jenkins is going to do with the Amazonian Princess this time around. We were blessed last year at Sdcc ‘18 with an action packed fight scene from Wonder Woman 1984. It definitely got me hooked and excited for more.

With a little under a year left until its June 2020 release, I imagine we will be seeing more press and behind the scenes looks into the upcoming movie. We are going to start it off with this behind the scenes photo that was released by reddit user u/professional_skeeter.

This is a cool shot, but it is the caption that is causing a stir on the internet.

New Wonder Woman 1984 Set Photo Shows an Amazon Warrior Ready for Battle

New Wonder Woman 1984 Set Photo Shows an Amazon Warrior Ready for Battle
A new photo from Wonder Woman 1984 has surfaced online. We're currently in a pretty dry news cycle when it comes to upcoming projects from DC Films. So, any and all information that comes up is certainly worth discussing. In this case, we have an image of actress Rosanna Walls decked out in her Amazon warrior gear, presumably ready to do battle.

The photo surfaced over on Reddit and was screen-grabbed from an Instagram story. We see Rosanna Walls, who is playing an unnamed Amazon warrior in the sequel, standing with her hands on her hips, flashing a little grin. They're shooting in The Canary Islands, per the caption, and we can presume this will be serving as Diana Prince's island home of Themyscira. Other than being a photo with a beautiful background, it unfortunately doesn't tell us all that much.

In any event, this is the first bit

Star Trek: 5 Kelvin Timeline Actors We Hope Reprise Their Roles In Quentin Tarantino's R-Rated Movie (And 5 We Don't)

A couple of years ago, it was announced that Quentin Tarantino had pitched an R-rated Star Trek movie to Paramount and, even more strangely, the studio had accepted it. They greenlit the film and got Mark L. Smith working on a script. During the promotional rounds for his new movie Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, Tarantino has been shedding some light on the plans for his Star Trek movie, including the confirmation that it will take place in “the Chris Pine timeline.”

This timeline is known to Trekkies as “the Kelvin Timeline,” since that’s the name that J.J. Abrams gave it. Here are 5 Kelvin Timeline actors we hope reprise their roles in Quentin Tarantino’s R-Rated Star Trek movie (and 5 we don't).

Brad Pitt and Margot Robbie Would Love To Be In Quentin Tarantino's Star Trek Movie

In a recent interview with Rory at Joe.ie, Margot Robbie and Brad Pitt said not only yes but “Hell Yes!” to starring in Quentin Tarantino’s hypothetical Star Trek movie. Robbie said, “I would do anything, anything that Tarantino is doing."

The whole interview is fun to watch, like when they realize that they have starred in two movies together yet they haven’t had a single scene together.

I just love the idea of both of them in a Star Trek movie. I would like to think that Pitt would make a great villain in that universe. Robbie can play whatever she wants, I don’t even care.

Check out the interview below and let us know what you think. Also check out an interview that Tarantino gave while promoting Once Upon a Time… In Hollywood, where he talks about directing a Star Trek movie thanks so ComicBook.

Brad Pitt And Margot Robbie Want A Role In Quentin Tarantino’s Star Trek

Ever since it was first announced, I’ve been dying to know more about Quentin Tarantino’s Star Trek project. The director’s brand of fast-talking, blood-soaked Ott thriller seems totally at odds with the Trek universe, but maybe in this instance opposites will attract.

In any case, now that Once Upon A Time in Hollywood is out and picking up rave reviews, Tarantino can start to fully commit himself to the movie, and some of his biggest stars want in on it. During a press event for the aforementioned Hollywood, Brad Pitt and Margot Robbie were asked whether they’d be interested in appearing in the Trek movie that Qt’s cooking up, and their response was unequivocal.

“Hells yeah!” said Pitt.

Robbie, meanwhile, offered up an equally enthusiastic answer, saying:

“I would do anything, anything that Tarantino is doing.”

William Shatner Thinks Captain Kirk Will Run Wild In Tarantino’s Star Trek Movie

The Star Trek franchise may be flourishing on the small screen thanks to Discovery and the highly-anticipated upcoming debut of Picard, but the future of the long-running series on the big screen isn’t quite so clear. The third entry in the rebooted timeline, Justin Lin’s Star Trek Beyond, failed to crack $350m at the global box office despite solid reviews, and ever since then development on a fourth installment has faltered.

At one point, Chris Hemsworth was set to reprise his role as George Kirk before both he and Chris Pine reportedly walked away from the project to leave the future of the potential Star Trek 4 in a state of disarray, before the production was shelved indefinitely in January. However, this wasn’t the only Star Trek movie on the cards, and the questions about Quentin Tarantino’s involvement in the franchise have recently intensified with the filmmaker

‘Love, Antosha’ Film Review: Anton Yelchin’s Brief, Voracious Life Celebrated in Poignant Doc
It’s hard to imagine a more heartfelt eulogy than “Love, Antosha,” the emotional new documentary from first-time director Garret Price, about the life and the tragic, sudden, almost unbelievable death of actor Anton Yelchin.

Born Anton Viktorovich Yelchin to immigrant ice-skating superstars from the U.S.S.R., the young actor co-starred in 69 movies and television shows before he was crushed by his own car in a bizarre accident when he was only 27. Mainstream audiences probably knew him best as Anton Chekov, the rookie crew member aboard J.J. Abrams’ rebooted “Star Trek” movie franchise. But since 2000, Yelchin had been working as a child actor in high profile projects like “ER” and “Hearts in Atlantis,” before eventually graduating to mature leading roles in celebrated films like “Like Crazy” and “Green Room.”

As a child star, and an enterprising youngster who made experimental films with his friends and family, there’s

Chris Pine Is Walter Cronkite in Newsflash Biopic
Star Trek actor Chris Pine will next play one of the most well-known real-life TV anchors of all time, as the actor will portray Walter Cronkite in upcoming biopic Newsflash. Previously, Seth Rogen was attached to play the role when David Gordon Green was on board to direct. However, after Green left the project to helm last year's Halloween sequel, Rogen would ultimately depart as well.

Written by Ben Jacoby, the project has no new director officially signed on as of this writing, though that decision will likely be made soon if casting is under way. Greg Silverman is also reportedly producing under his Stampede banner along with Adam Kolbrenner.

While Walter Cronkite will serve as the primary character, Newsflash will specifically focus on the events of Nov. 22, 1963. American historians will recognize that date as the day President John F. Kennedy was assassinated in Dallas, Texas. Such a monumental event

Chris Pine to play Walter Cronkite in JFK drama Newsflash

Star Trek actor Chris Pine has been tapped to play legendary CBS anchorman Walter Cronkite in Newsflash. Per Deadline, the film will follow Cronkite on November 22, 1963, the fateful day President John F. Kennedy was assassinated and Cronkite’s reporting of the event, a moment in which he became a voice the American people trusted with the news.

Pine will be joining Mark Ruffalo (Avengers: Endgame) in the film. Ruffalo will play Don Hewitt, Cronkite’s producer who helped search through the many rumours about JFK’s shooting. Newsflash will also delve into Cronkite and Hewitt’s conflict with their boss Jim Aubrey. Prior to JFK’s assassination, Aubrey very nearly cancelled Cronkite’s program and the entire evening newscast for something that would appeal to a wider audience. It was their reporting of that day which helped save their program.

Newsflash originally had Seth Rogen attached to play Cronkite with David Gordon Green directing,
