Gotham Season 3 Episode 8 Review – ‘Blood Rush’

Martin Carr reviews the eighth episode of Gotham season 3…

Mind games, psychosis and mental imbalance are in order on Gotham this week, giving rise to the concise and punchy tag line which is ‘Blood Rush’. As Nathaniel Barnes, Edward Nygma and James Gordon amongst others suffer in one way or another from emotional flux, both self-induced and otherwise.

In truth the back and forth of emotions with regards to relationships plays only a small part in proceedings as Barnes takes up a majority of the episode. Battling as he does with the blood poisoning gifted him by Alice Tetch, this week the interest lays primarily with his symptoms and attempts to suppress those baser instincts. Chiklis who has had little to do aside from looking moody with a cane of late does well expressing the inner turmoil. Demonstrating a temper perpetually kept in check through years of conditioning and professional expectation,

'Homeland' Recap: Brody Kills Akbari, Needs Carrie To Get Him Out Of Tehran

Homeland’s penultimate episode of its third season offered a tense hour, as Saul (Mandy Patinkin) moves the Brody op forward with Carrie (Claire Danes) now assisting from Tehran.

Homeland Recap

Now that Saul knows that his wife’s lover Alan Bernard (William Abadie) was involved in some shady hacking with Lockhart (Tracy Letts), he’s determined to use him to his own advantage. Approaching Bernard in his cell, Saul tells him that he’s going to encourage the Israeli Mossad to give aid to Brody (Damien Lewis) in Iran. Bernard, without any other options, seems poised to comply.

In Iran, Brody records himself outlining his faux-partnership with Javadi, which is to be sent to Akbari. If Akbari trusts that Brody is the one who bombed Langley, the idea is that he’ll be able to get close enough to him to take him out – leading to Javadi ascending to power.

Homeland: Is Mira Saul's Rock or a Liability?
Homeland has dropped a number of twists this season, but one of its most recent could potentially strike acting CIA director Saul Berenson very close to home.

Just as Saul (Mandy Patinkin) seemed to be putting back together his marriage with Mira (Sarita Choudhury), the show threw us a curveball. After Mira broke things off with her former lover Alain Bernard (William Abadie), he ...

'Homeland' season 3 UK airdate confirmed as October 6

Channel 4 has announced that Homeland's third season will premiere in the UK next month.

The award-winning drama - starring Damian Lewis and Claire Danes - will return on Sunday, October 6 at 9pm. It will premiere on Showtime in the Us on Sunday, September 29.

Homeland triumphed at the 2013 Primetime Emmys on Sunday night (September 22), with Danes taking home the 'Leading Actress in a Drama Series' award for the second year running and writer Henry Bromell being recognised for his work on season two's 'Q&A'.

Fox 21's Bert Salke recently billed the new season as "Homeland 2.0", and claimed that viewers can expect a different, "more emotional" show.

Meanwhile, Lewis told Digital Spy earlier this year that he does not see Carrie and Brody's romance as "a story that has got legs", and argued that the pair would be "in the divorce courts very quickly".

Give’em Hell Malone Trailer

We’ve already posted what looks like a long promo sales reel for Russell Mulcahy’s “Give’em Hell Malone”, and another kinda-trailer. This, from the looks of it, is the official trailer for the movie, which stars Thomas Jane as a Pi who kills a lot of people, romances a lot of chicks, and drinks a lot of Scotch. This is apparently the trailer that will be making the rounds over at the Cannes Film Festival along with the finished movie, one presumes. Of course you don’t have to go to Cannes to see it. Check it out below. A tough as nails private investigator (Malone) squares off with gangsters and their thugs to protect a valuable secret. Malone goes through hell to protect the information but he dishes some hell as well. Starring Thomas Jane, Ving Rhames, Doug Hutchison, Leland Orser, Elsa Pataky, French Stewart, William Abadie,
