The lovely Christoph Waltz has been hired on to co-star in an upcoming untitled action thriller for Quibi (the “quick bite” streaming service aimed toward young people on their phones) alongside Liam Hemsworth (The Hunger Games). Here’s a synopsis from Deadline:

In the series, desperate to take care of his pregnant wife before a terminal illness can take his life, Dodge Maynard (Hemsworth) accepts an offer to participate in a deadly game where he soon discovers that he’s not the hunter… but the prey. The action-thriller explores the limits of how far someone would go to fight for their life and their family. Let the games begin.

Waltz has been cast as the character Miles Sellers, whom we don’t have a description for, but we can probably fairly assume that he will be the hunter in the scenario, because that sounds right. I’m not sure about the format,

Marvel May Have Major Plans For Doctor Doom Separate From Fantastic Four

Doctor Doom is one of the most iconic supervillains in the Marvel comics universe, but though he’s been adapted three times for the big screen in the past two decades, we’ve yet to see him done justice in the movies. Hopes are high, then, that Marvel Studios will get him right now they have the character back from Fox. The question is, though: how are they going to handle him?

McU Cosmic has suggested one way he could be introduced into the franchise. According to their sources, Marvel is considering various methods of bringing him into the McU. One option is that Victor Von Doom could get his own Disney Plus TV series that would set up the character without featuring the Fantastic Four, who we know are getting their own movie reboot at some point in the future.

This also fits with what We Got This Covered has heard from our sources.

Django Unchained Star Also Being Eyed For The McU’s Doctor Doom

With the Fantastic Four flying back to Marvel Studios, Doctor Doom is surely on his way to the McU in the not-so-distant future. Victor Von Doom is one of the biggest supervillains in the Marvel universe and fans are excited to see how Kevin Feige and co. will handle him. The pressure’s certainly on for them to get it right, too, after Fox never managed it in three Ff movies.

At this early stage in the process, it seems Marvel is keeping their options open and is considering a range of actors for the ruler of Latveria. We’ve previously brought you the news that they might get Hugh Jackman back to switch sides and play the villain this time around, but we’ve also heard from our sources – the same ones who told us Taskmaster will be the villain of Black Widow and the real Mandarin will be in Shang-Chi,

Scarlett Johansson Still Backs Woody Allen: ‘I Would Work With Him Anytime’
Though much of Hollywood has distanced itself from Woody Allen, Scarlett Johansson said that she believes the director and would gladly work with him again.

“I love Woody,” Johansson told The Hollywood Reporter in an interview published on Wednesday. “I believe him, and I would work with him anytime.”

Johansson has worked with Allen on three films, including “Match Point,” (2005), “Scoop,” (2006) and “Vicky Cristina Barcelona” (2008).

However, after Amazon Studios terminated its four-picture production deal with Allen, the director has been unable to find U.S. distribution for his latest film, “A Rainy Day in New York.” The film’s stars, including Timothée Chalamet and Rebecca Hall, have publicly expressed their regret over working with Allen and donated their earnings from the film to charity.

The backlash stems from accusations that were resurfaced in

X-Men Star Michael Fassbender Being Eyed For The McU’s Doctor Doom

Kevin Feige has confirmed that Marvel’s working on a Fantastic Four reboot, following the Disney/Fox merger, promising that they’ll treat the First Family in the way they deserve. Presumably, this also includes Doctor Doom. The studio will have to find the perfect actor to play Victor Von Doom in the McU to make up for Fox’s many failed attempts to do him justice though and it seems they’re currently keeping their options open.

We Got This Covered has heard of a trio of names that are on Marvel’s wishlist for Doom. Spectre‘s Christoph Waltz is one of them, but the other two are veterans of the X-Men franchise. The studio is apparently considering getting Hugh Jackman to swap Wolverine for Doom, or failing that, they may try to bring Magneto star Michael Fassbender in for the job.

To clarify, this isn’t saying

Christoph Waltz Will Hunt Liam Hemsworth for Sport in Quibi Action Series

I've had severe reservations about Quibi—the self-styled streaming service for millennials that will specialize in bite-sized, 10-minutes or less content—since it was announced. How does that even work? How does one tell a story like that? Is Quibi a prank of some sort? And yet today, I suddenly find myself extremely invested in the success of Quibi, if only to experience this newly-announced action-thriller in which two-time Oscar-winner Christoph Waltz hunts Liam Hemsworth for sport. The official synopsis, via Deadline: In the series, desperate to take care of his pregnant …
