Barbara Knox was born on September 30, 1933 in Oldham, Lancashire, England as Barbara Brothwood. She is an actress, known for Coronation Street (1960), Coronation Street: A Knight's Tale (2010) and Funny You Should Say That (1972). She was previously married to John Knox and Denis Mullaney.

When the UK Sun newspaper presented her with a surprise birthday cake to mark the occasion of her 60th birthday, Barbara was finally forced to concede her true age, having previously pretended to be some 5 years younger. [1993]
