Trivia:

Was slated to direct the film version of "Man of La Mancha", but was let go by United Artists when they learned that he planned to eliminate nearly all of the songs and make a "straight" dramatic film of the musical. It was Glenville who brought in most of the principal actors, which is why the film is largely cast with Shakespearean actors who had never sung before in a film. See more »
