Although the Emmy Awards are following in the footsteps of the Oscars and going host-less in 2019, they're still keeping up one tradition: a voiceover announcer. So who's the snarky voice guiding the evening along with quips and "fun facts" about everyone on stage? That would be Thomas Lennon, a true multihyphenate who boasts credits as an actor, a screenwriter, a comedian, and an author.

Lennon's most successful and popular work is probably the Night at the Museum series of films, which he cowrote with Robert Ben Garant, his longtime writing partner. They're also credited with The Pacifier and the 2017 reboot of Baywatch. Although he's perfectly comfortable working behind the scenes, Lennon is also a veteran actor. His best-known TV role is as Lt. Jim Dangle on the Comedy Central series Reno 911!, which ran from 2003 to 2009.

There’s not a car crash, police chase, celebrity DUI, convenience store smash and grab, baby bear in a swimming pool, or taco truck fire they won’t race to. Every night out on the streets, there are winners and losers.

After languishing in development hell since 2011, Warner Bros. is moving forward once again on their Cannonball Run remake, with Doug Liman in early talks to direct. The last we had heard about this project was almost exactly a year ago, when the studio brought in Rawson Marshall Thurber (Central Intelligence) to direct, but this new report reveals that a deal was never struck with Thurber. Liman will now be working from an existing draft by Robert Ben Garant and Thomas Lennon (Night at the Museum franchise), although the studio is said to be seeking a new writer.

Both The Cannonball Run (1981) and Cannonball Run II (1984) were directed by legendary stuntman/filmmaker Hal Needham, with the first written by Brock Yates, who created the actual race the movie series is based on. The original Cannonball Run was actually not a race at all, with only one "team" participating, Car & Driver magazine

10 Modern Horror Comedies That Deserve More Love

Over the years, I’ve been pretty vocal about how much I adore horror comedies, and considering how challenging the world at large has been over the last few years, it’s truly my favorite subsection of the genre to disappear into as of late. There have been numerous brilliant humorous horror movies over the years, but I thought now would be the perfect time to celebrate 10 films from the modern landscape of genre cinema that have not only been largely under-appreciated by fans, but also do a killer job of finding new ways to merge the funnies with the frights.

Just a note before we begin: I purposefully left off films like Behind the Mask: The Rise of Leslie Vernon, What We Do in the Shadows, Cabin in the Woods, Zombieland, Tucker & Dale vs. Evil, The Frighteners and projects of that caliber, because I feel like some of those

Reno 911! Is Getting a Movie Sequel

It looks like a Reno 911! movie sequel could be in the cards. And it could be happening very soon. Reno 911!: Miami came out a full decade ago in 2007, but the Comedy Central series that spawned the comedy movie has retained a following over the years and it looks like that following may be enough to justify another movie. According to star Niecy Nash, the Reno 911! movie sequel could be shooting next summer.

Niecy Nash, who plays Deputy Raineesha Williams on Reno 911! was interviewed during the premiere for her new movie Downsizing. While at the premiere, she was asked about another movie based on the comedy series and, according to her, such a project is in the works. If she can make it happen, the Reno gang will reunite next summer to shoot the comedy sequel. Here's what she had to say about it.

"I'm trying to get everybody to commit to it this summer!

The Croods 2 Finally Gets a Release Date

The Croods 2 Finally Gets a Release Date
DreamWorks has firmed up some of their upcoming slate and it is a little surprising, for various reasons. Croods 2 is now set for release on September 18, 2020, and Spooky Jack is set for a September 17, 2021, release. Last year, it was reported that the studio canceled The Croods 2, despite the fact that the movie was a big financial success. For some reason, that has changed and now the sequel is on track for release in a few years.

The Croods was released in 2013 and made a very impressive $587.2 million worldwide. Even though it seemed, for whatever reason, they weren't going to do the sequel, DreamWorks Animation has had a change of heart and The Croods 2 is back on. Nicolas Cage, Emma Stone, Ryan Reynolds, Catherine Keener, Cloris Leachman and Clark Duke are all set to reprise their roles for the sequel, with Leslie Mann set to join the cast this time around.
