Doctor Sleep Final Trailer Brings Danny Torrance Back to the Overlook Hotel
The final Doctor Sleep trailer has arrived and it brings us to familiar territory. The latest look at the movie was teased earlier this week with a brief trailer. Doctor Sleep is based on Stephen King's recent sequel to the iconic The Shining and follows the grown-up Danny Torrance (Ewan McGregor) as he tries to live with the blessing and curse of Shining. From the look of things, horror fans are going to be very excited by what they see on the big screen at the beginning of November.

The new Doctor Sleep trailer mostly plays off of nostalgia, which is currently a big business. The Overlook Hotel is prominently on display, and that is worth the price of admission alone. There's also shots of twins, a young version of Danny on his iconic Big Wheel, and blood spilling out of an elevator door. We're in some very familiar territory here,

Doctor Sleep Is Rated-r for Being a Disturbing & Bloody Sequel to The Shining

Doctor Sleep Is Rated-r for Being a Disturbing & Bloody Sequel to The Shining
We're in for a bloody, disturbing ride later this year as Doctor Sleep is officially going to be R-rated. This serves as a sequel to The Shining. Both Stephen King's novel and Stanley Kubrick's movie (which King is notably not a big fan of) are very highly regarded, so doing a sequel this many years later is a risky endeavor. At the very least, as confirmed by director Mike Flanagan, the movie won't be pulling any punches.

Mike Flanagan, who previously adapted Stephen King's Gerald's Game for Netflix, took to Twitter to reveal that the Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA) has handed out an R-rating to Doctor Sleep. This was also confirmed by the MPAA's official website. Per Flanagan's tweet, it earned its rating for all the right reasons. Here's what Flanagan had to say about it.

"Doctor Sleep has officially been rated R by the MPAA for 'disturbing and violent content,

Hobbs & Shaw Almost Set Keanu Reeves Up for Future Sequels
David Leitch says Keanu Reeves was almost in Hobbs & Shaw. The director went on to say that he and Reeves were in communication before production even began all the way to when the first cut was finished. When the rumors started to spread, action fans started to get pretty excited about the idea of Jason Statham, Dwayne Johnson, Idris Elba, and Reeves all in the same movie. But it was not to be, which Johnson confirmed shortly after the initial rumors began to spread like wildfire.

Hobbs & Shaw hit theaters over the weekend and scored a massive global haul of over $180 million, but Keanu Reeves didn't show up. While the rumors sounded a bit too good to be true at the time, it turns out they were actually based on fact. David Leitch had this to say about Reeves having a cameo in the Fast and Furious spin-off.

Dwayne Johnson Shares His Future Plans for the Hobbs & Shaw Franchise and Building a New Team Around Hobbs

Dwayne Johnson isn’t done with his Fast and Furious spinoff Hobbs & Shaw franchise yet! He has big plans for the future, and in a recent interview with MTV, he shared his vision for the franchise and said he’s looking to build a whole new team around Hobbs moving forward. He explained:

“The dream is that we create a team around Hobbs that the world will love. Create a team around Hobbs that is montley crew of unique characters, but all the best in class at what they do. All of them self deprecating in their humor. The whole crew, that’s what I would like. Then when they’re best in their class, they’re lethal and they can kill and kick ass. But, then they just have the greatest time. That’s the goal.”

‘Fast and Furious Presents: Hobbs and Shaw’ Review – Second Opinion

  • Nerdly
Stars: Dwayne Johnson, Jason Statham, Vanessa Kirby, Eiza González, Idris Elba, Helen Mirren, Eddie Marsan, Cliff Curtis | Written by Chris Morgan, Drew Pearce | Directed by David Leitch

Fast and Furious Presents: Hobbs and Shaw is the first spin-off in the infamous and insanely successful Fast and Furious franchise, bumping the ongoing entry as the ninth piece into this ever-growing puzzle. Directed by David Leitch and starring heavyweight cinematic giants and returning franchise members Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham as Luke Hobbs and Deckard Shaw. Leitch’s film finds both characters brought together in an unlikely alliance in which they need to stop the trafficking of a new deadly virus from the hands of villain Brixton (Idris Elba).

The Fast and Furious franchise is becoming increasingly bizarre as time goes on. A producer of the series very recently would not count out the possibility of these characters one day going into space,

Review Round-Up: “Hobbs & Shaw,” “Jay Myself,” “Luce,” And “Teacher”

With such a busy week in terms of festival announcements and awards season reveals, reviews of new releases have had to take a backseat (including due to an embargo for one title). That changes today, as we can now run down four of the films that are hitting/hit theaters. The quartet of movies includes the action spinoff Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw, the documentary Jay Myself, as well as indie dramas in Luce and Teacher. The flicks are all incredibly different, to say the least. Are any/all worth your time and money this weekend? Let me help you decide that right now, ladies and gentlemen… Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw Spinning off the Fast & Furious franchise makes perfect sense. They’re such gigantic films that breaking some characters off from the main group for their own adventures isn’t totally insane. However, it does require

Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs And Shaw – Review

Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs And Shaw is no less boneheaded than the previous couple of F&f films, but it’s brimming with eye-popping action sequences and rollicking stunt work from Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham (and their doubles) so if all you require from a night out at the movies is 135 minutes of shiny, noisy fun, then step on up. Hobbs and Shaw were characters from the last couple of F&Fs, but Dom (Vin Diesel), Brian (Paul Walker), and Letty (Michelle Rodriguez) were always the heart of the franchise. Their absence is missed in this spin-off, as is anything else resembling dimensional human beings, recognizable emotions, or reality.

The plot of Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs And Shaw is fairly simple. H&s team up in a race against time to stop a deadly virus being unleashed into the world. Vehicles explode, fists fly, stuntmen tumble, glass shatters, and physics

Directed by David Leitch.

Starring Dwayne Johnson, Jason Statham, Idris Elba, Vanessa Kirby, Ryan Reynolds, Rob Delaney, Eiza González, Helen Mirren, Eddie Marsan, Eliana Sua, Cliff Curtis, Stephanie Vogt, David Mumeni, Axel Nu, Lampros Kalfuntzos, Lori Pelenise Tuisano, John Tui, Joshua Mauga, and Roman Reigns.

Synopsis:

Lawman Luke Hobbs and outcast Deckard Shaw form an unlikely alliance when a cyber-genetically enhanced villain threatens the future of humanity.

Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw is a whole lot of movie. At its best it’s a well-executed action romp while it’s worst is a slog through a shaky script and headache inducing fight scenes.

Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson is Luke Hobbs and Jason Statham the other titular hero Deckard Shaw. The two characters have been spun out from the Fast & Furious franchise, making their way into their own big-screen jaunt thanks to the
