Only One Broadcast Show Grew Ratings From Premiere Week to Week 2

Only one Big 4 broadcast series actually grew its TV ratings from the first week of the 2019-20 television season to the second. Congratulations to CBS drama “FBI” — at least one branch of the federal government is actually improving these days.

Counting a week of delayed viewing, the CBS procedural grew from a 1.56 premiere-week rating in the important adults 18-49 demographic to a 1.58 on the following Tuesday night, according to Nielsen. That represents an enormous increase of — wait for it — 1.2821%.

Hey, up is up when talking about TV ratings in 2019.

‘FBI’: John Boyd Promoted To Series Regular On CBS Drama
John Boyd has been upped to a series regular on FBI for the CBS drama’s current second season. His first episode as a series regular will air on October 22.

Boyd plays Agent Stuart Scola, a silver-tongued, fast-talking, quick-witted former Wall Streeter-turned-fbi agent. He’s a Reddit-exploring Ivy Leaguer whose do-gooder sensibilities belie his born-and-bred New York cynicism.

As Deadline exclusively reported, Bones alum Boyd in August was tapped for a recurring role on FBI,now playing Agent Stuart Scola. He was set to appear in three episodes, with an option to become a series regular. That option has been exercised.

FBI is a fast-paced drama about the inner workings of the New York office of the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Boyd will be joining series regulars Missy Peregrym, Zeeko Zaki, Jeremy Sisto, Ebonée Noel and Alana De La Garza.

Wrong Turn Reboot Begins Shooting in Ohio

Get ready to head back into the woods, as the upcoming Wrong Turn reboot has begun filming in Ohio. According to Cincinnati reporter Sheila Vilvens on Twitter, film crews are in the village of New Richmond through Sept. 13 for the production of the next installment of the Wrong Turn movie series. In response, another Ohioan claims the crews are also shooting in the town of Felicity. No photos of the production have yet been made available and the particulars of the scenes are currently unclear, but this does suggest the reboot is on track to be released sometime next year.

Created and written by Alan B. McElroy, the first Wrong Turn was released in 2003 with Rob Schmidt in the director's chair. New Wrong Turn Movie Has Officially Begun Filming

Fans of the Wrong Turn series, here’s some news that will send you running to YouTube to refresh your mutant memory: Filming has begun on the next installment of the franchise.

It all began in 2003 with Jeremy Sisto and Eliza Dushku, fresh from her run as Faith on Buffy The Vampire Slayer. The first of eventually six Wrong Turn movies came out and the world once again saw how terrifying cannibals, especially inbred ones, can be. 2014 brought us the last entry, with Last Resort and since then, the franchise has been keeping pretty quiet.

But back in October of last year, We Got This Covered reported that a new installment was in the works, teasing another dark adventure. I’m not sure what you’d classify the original movies as, but that’s no adventure I’d want to partake in.

Bones vet John Boyd is sticking to what he knows best: The actor, who played FBI Agent James Aubrey on the Fox drama, will recur during Season 2 of FBI as Agent Stuart Scola, our sister site Deadline reports.

Exclusive: Bones alum John Boyd is set for recurring role on the upcoming second season of Dick Wolf’s CBS drama series FBI. Boyd will play Agent Stuart Scola. He’s handsome, smart and irreverent and had a prior relationship with Jubal (Jeremy Sisto). Boyd is set to appear in three episodes, with an option to become a series regular.

FBI is a fast-paced drama about the inner workings of the New York office of the Federal Bureau of Investigation. In addition to Sisto, it stars Missy Peregrym, Zeeko Zaki and Ebonée Noel.

Ryan Simpkins has joined Fox-Disney’s second installment of 20th Century Fox and Chernin Entertainment’s “Fear Street” trilogy, based on the novels by R.L. Stine.

Leigh Janiak is helming all three films.

Previously announced cast includes Gillian Jacobs, Sadie Sink, Emily Rudd, McCabe Slye, Kiana Madeira, Olivia Welch, Benjamin Flores Jr., Ashley Zukerman, Fred Hechinger, Julia Rehwald and Jeremy Ford.

First released in 1989, the Fear Street book series was set in the fictionalized city of Shadyside and revolved around teenagers who faced malevolent and sometimes paranormal opponents. The books were widely popular, with over 80 million copies sold.

It is unknown who Simpkins will be playing in the pic.

Chernin Entertainment is producing.

Simpkins’ most recent feature “Ladyworld” recently premiered at Fantastic Fest and has been playing festivals in the U.S. and abroad. Other films she has been seen in include “Brigsby Bear” with Kyle Mooney, Claire Danes and Andy Samburg,

Exclusive: Alana de la Garza, co-star of CBS’ upcoming midseason drama FBI: Most Wanted, is joining the mothership, FBI, as a series regular, reprising her role as Assistant Special Agent in Charge Isobel Castile. She also will continue to play the character on offshoot FBI: Most Wanted as a recurring guest star.

On FBI, which returns for a second season in the fall, de la Garza will fill the void left by the departure of Sela Ward, who had a one-year deal for the series. Ward played Special Agent in Charge Dana Mosier, who submitted her resignation in the Season 1 finale. Given Isobel’s Asac title on FBI: Most Wanted, she should be able to fit in nicely, taking over the boss position vacated by Sac Dana Mosier on FBI.
