Little Giants, 25 Years Later: What the Stars Are Up to Now

The Little Giants are all grown up! Pegged to be the Bad News Bears or Mighty Ducks for football, the comedy found Ed O'Neill and Rick Moranis starring as polar opposite brothers facing off against one another with their respective pee-wee teams, the fiercely talented Cowboys and the Giants, an underdog team of misfits. (We'll give you one guess as to which team ends up winning the big game in the end.) Though it was considered a box office disappointment after its release in October 1994, Little Giants has gone on to become a cult classic in the 25 years since, with Becky "Icebox" O'Shea becoming an inspiration for young girls and the film helping cement Devon Sawa's status as the...

Casting a Little Shop of Horrors Movie Reboot

The 80s movie scene was an entire universe of its own. It was filled with unique characters and random oddities. But nothing encompasses the 80s movie culture more than the film, Little Shop of Horrors. When it came out in 1986, it became an instant cult classic based on a low budget 60s film. We’ve seen it remade on stage many times, and now that it’s been more than 30 years, it might be time to reboot the original. The 1986 film starred some big names including Rick Moranis, Steve Martin, and guests such as Jim Belushi, John Candy, and

‘Little Shop Of Horrors’ Review: Campy Classic Devours Pasadena Playhouse With Soul, Heart And Inclusivity
The original production of Little Shop of Horrors first debuted Off-Off-Broadway in 1982 and then suddenly Seymour and company made their way to the Orpheum Theater for an Off-Broadway production that ran for five years. A hybrid of sci-fi and comedy, the musical about a carnivorous plant looking to take over the world became a cult classic spawning numerous productions and had a film adaptation starring Rick Moranis and Ellen Greene in 1986. After almost four decades, it has still retained its cult status with its R&b flair and irreverent, yet earnest lyrics and the new production at the Pasadena Playhouse continues the tradition with a fresh, inclusive iteration of the musical favorite.

The genre-driven musical comedy with music by Alan Menken and book and lyrics by the late, great Howard Ashman still feeds the soul with camp, humor, heart and its subversive charm. The Pasadena Playhouse production may just be a cast of eight,

Sandler Gets Serious

Tom Jolliffe looks at Adam Sandler’s successful forays into drama…

When you get a name for yourself doing something, it becomes difficult to shake off that label. When Robert De Niro had been so well known as gangsters, maniacs or tough guys, his ventures into comedy were initially surprising. When it comes to Adam Sandler, the stand-up, turned SNL star, turned movie star has become synonymous with shlub comedy. He’s often the under-achieving, every-man hero getting one over against the nemesis of more privilege.

Sandler began with sleeper hits in a booming MTV era comedy market that saw guys like Mike Myers, Dana Carvey, Chris Farley and Pauly Shore being pushed as the next big thing. That period between 90-96 seemed to have huge swathes of new comedy stars arriving, at a time when perhaps the audiences for Steve Martin, Bill Murray, Rick Moranis, Chevy Chase etc, didn

Bill Murray Spotted Near Ghostbusters 2020 Set with Dan Aykroyd & Sigourney Weaver
Video footage of Bill Murray near the Ghostbusters 2020 set in Calgary has been revealed. Fans of the Ghostbusters franchise have been wondering if Murray was going to return after finding out that Dan Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson, Sigourney Weaver, and Annie Potts have all officially signed on to star in the highly anticipated sequel. Aykroyd was asked about the possibility a few weeks back and did not provide a concrete answer. However, we may have finally gotten our answer, thanks to some video footage.

The video footage in question was taken in Calgary, Canada, which is where Ghostbusters 2020 is currently shooting. The video shows Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, and Sigourney Weaver sharing drinks at a hotel bar. While grainy, one can easily tell that it's Murray sitting next to Aykroyd and they appear to be having a good time. The video was taken on September 15th, which was the weekend before last.

Ivan Reitman Has Dropped Some Info on Paul Rudd's Character in the Upcoming Ghostbusters 3

Details of the newest film in the Ghostbusters franchise, Ghostbusters 2020, have been scarce at best, so every little bit of casting or story news we get is pretty dang exciting. This past weekend, Universal Studios Halloween Haunt hosted its press preview night, and Dan Aykroyd and original director, now producer, Ivan Reitman took a stroll through the new Ghostbusters maze.

While at the event, a reporter for Et was able to ask Reitman if he could tell a little bit about Paul Rudd’s character. The only thing we knew about him up to this point was that he was a teacher at the young characters’ school.

Here’s what Reitman had to say:

“Well, he’s a seismologist who’s come to this small town because they’ve been having mysterious earthquakes. He’s also teaching summer school there.”

This is pretty cool. It probably means that there

Ernie Hudson confirms Winston Zeddemore return in Ghostbusters 2020

Just days after Dan Aykroyd announced that he’ll be reprising the role of Ray Stantz in Ghostbusters 2020, it seems we now have confirmation on the return of another original Ghostbuster in Winston Zeddemore, with Ernie Hudson having confirmed his involvement with the Jason Reitman-directed movie.

Hudson made the announcement during a Cameo video, where he was offering a special happy birthday message to a fan – during which he revealed that he’s currently shooting scenes on the new film.

With this announcement, we now know that Aykroyd, Huson, Sigourney Weaver (Dana Barrett) and Annie Potts (Janine Melnitz) will all be returning to their roles from the first two Ghostbusters, while Aykroyd last week that he’s “hoping” Bill Murray will be part of the reunion too.

As yet, there’s been no word as to whether Ghostbusters 2020 will be able to tempt Rick Moranis out of retirement,

Ernie Hudson Officially Confirms His Return For Ghostbusters 2020

The Ghostbusters franchise has endured a difficult few years, to put it lightly. From start to finish, Paul Feig’s 2016 reboot was mercilessly bashed by rage-fueled online trolls, and ultimately ended up under-performing at the box office and losing a lot of money for Sony, who had been banking so heavily on the movie’s success that they created an entire production company named Ghost Corps specifically to oversee the expansion of the Ghostbusters brand.

As for Ghostbusters 3, the official follow-up to the 1984 original and its sequel, the project remained stuck in development hell for decades, enduring a number of false starts until it turned out that the key to getting the movie made was about keeping it in the family. Jason Reitman, son of Ghostbusters and Ghostbusters II director Ivan, is set to co-write and direct the currently-titled Ghostbusters 2020, and is keen on bringing back many of the original cast members.

Stephen Colbert Turns Donald Trump Into a Monstrous Plant in ‘Little Shop of Horrors’ Mashup (Video)
Donald Trump’s presidency is like a plant. His words, not ours. He compared the movement that he and his supporters have made to a seed slowly taking root while at his rally in North Carolina on Monday.

So naturally Stephen Colbert and company asked with their latest mashup video Tuesday night: “If Donald Trump was a plant, what plant would he be?”

The Late Show” team came up with the other-worldly, blood-crazed monstrosity from the 1986 cult classic musical “Little Shop of Horrors,” now called “Bigly Shop of Horrors,” to quote one of the president’s other best words.

For anyone who loves the fact that all of these animated classics keep getting rebooted, we have great news for you. Following the massive financial success of Disney’s most recent live-action remakes, the studio is hoping to continue developing plenty more well into the future. Just like with Dumbo, the human characters in the movie will likely be real people, while the animals will be animated.

This year, there will be, among others, one inspired by Stranger Things and one modeled after Jordan Peele's Us, but none are expected to be as epic as the one inspired by Ghostbusters. During a visit with The Hollywood Reporter, the creative director for Halloween Horror Nights had this to say about the new attraction.

"It's up there as the most ambitious we have done. Special effects-wise, it is way up there. We have done some crazy stuff through the years,
