Supergirl: Season Premieres, Ranked

This article includes spoilers from Supergirl season five, episode one, so read this at your own risk if you haven’t seen it yet.

The CW’s Arrowverse is officially back as each respective show is making its return and that includes the fifth season of Supergirl. The fourth season started and finished big for the Girl of Steel (Melissa Benoist.) Many of the massive storylines had the series exploring more topical themes as well as introduce the villainous Lex Luthor (Jon Cryer) into the DC TV universe. The season four finale wrapped up several stories while also setting a few things into motion for the new season, including this year’s Arrowverse crossover.

Stephen Amell May’ve Just Spoiled A Big Crisis On Infinite Earths Guest Star

Remember the photo Stephen Amell posted earlier this week from the set of “Crisis on Infinite Earths“? We were all so focused on his battered, bruised face that we overlooked the fact that the snap actually reveals a couple of surprises about the Arrowverse crossover that maybe we weren’t meant to know yet.

As you can see in the zoomed-in picture below, the board behind Amell sports a list of characters involved in the crossover. It’s no surprise to see that there are a few Clark Kents and a couple of Lois Lanes listed on there, but it’s somewhat shocking to see the name Lex printed twice. Plus, “Baby Jon” seemingly teases a new addition to the Super-family.

First of all, Jon’s involvement in “Crisis” hasn’t been confirmed before, but the Super-baby’s appearance makes sense. In 2018’s “Elseworlds,” Elizabeth Tulloch’s Lois announced that

Brandon Routh's Kingdom Come Superman Poses with Tyler Hoechlin's Supergirl Superman in New Crisis On Infinite Earths Image

We’ve got a new photo from the set of DC’s Crisis on Infinite Earths crossover event series to share with you today. This is a great one as it features Brandon Routh's Kingdom Come Superman meeting Tyler Hoechlin's Earth-38 version of Superman from the Supergirl series and they are both in costume.

I just wish that Tom Welling would have joined in on the fun in this image! I seriously doubt he’s going to suit up in a Superman costume, though. I’d be shocked if he did.

A lot of fans are excited for this crossover, even the fans that don’t even watch any of these shows. This is going to be epic!

Smallville's Tom Welling Meets Supergirl's Superman and Lois Lane in Crisis On Infinite Earths Set Photo

Thanks to Supergirl’s Lois Lane actress Elizabeth Tulloch, we have a new photo from the set of The CW’s Crisis on Infinite Earths crossover event series to share with you today. What’s cool about this image is that it features Smallville‘s Tom Welling hanging out with Earth-38's Clark Kent (Tyler Hoechlin) and Lois Lane (Tulloch).

I’ve gotta say… seeing these two actors who play different versions of Superman together just shows how much more of a stronger presence that Welling brought to the role. It’s kind of hard to take Hoechlin seriously as Superman when standing next to Welling.

Supergirl Season 4: Best & Worst Episodes, Ranked

While the third season of Supergirl took the Girl of Steel drama to a darker tone, season four carried it on to a degree. The big bad for the fourth season didn’t tackle a super-powered being as Kara (Melissa Benoist) had to face a force of evil that was simply human. Season four was heavy on addressing more social issues and play around with the concept of anti-alien agendas. Right from the start of the new season, viewers were made aware how different this season was going to be, compared to others. With the Children of Liberty serving as a major threat for most of the season, we still got a handful of new characters from the DC world.

Birds of Prey's Ashley Scott Will Bring Huntress to the Arrowverse 'Crisis'

Birds of Prey's Ashley Scott Will Bring Huntress to the Arrowverse 'Crisis'
Another new name has been added to the call sheet for Arrowverse’s “Crisis on Infinite Earths” crossover, and it’s quite the throwback. TVLine has learned exclusively that Ashley Scott will appear in the five-part event as Huntress aka Helena Kyle, the character she played on the short-lived DC Comics drama Birds of Prey.

Premiering in 2002 on the now-shuttered WB, Birds of Prey also starred Dina Meyer as Batgirl and Rachel Skarsten (now the upcoming Batwoman‘s No. 1 baddie) as Black Canary. The series ran for 13 episodes before being cancelled due to low ratings.

Demi Moore's Former Lovers Jon Cryer & Ashton Kutcher Respond to Memoir Claims
Demi Moore is leaving no stone unturned when it comes to shedding details about her sex life in her new memoir Inside Out, but former lovers and Two and a Half Men co-stars Jon Cryer and Ashton Kutcher suggest not to believe everything you read.

In the book, Moore claimed she took Cryer's virginity while the two were working together on No Small Affair, which was Cryer's first movie role. "Jon fell for me in real life, too, and lost his virginity to me while we were making that movie," Moore writes. She would also suggest she then felt guilty for taking "what could have been such an important and beautiful moment from him."

For better or for worse, Jon Cryer has since weighed in on Moore's claim to clarify that it's not particularly accurate. In fact, Cryer says he actually lost his virginity in high school prior to meeting Moore,

‘Smallville’ Star Tells Warner Bros TV To Take A Flying Leap

  • Deadline
Smallville star Michael Rosenbaum brought a singular genius to the screen in his decade-long tenure as Lex Luthor, but the actor said he isn’t having any second thoughts about declining a Warner Bros. TV overture to revive the character this fall.

On Twitter, Rosenbaum explained that his decision to leave the Smallville reunion as part of the Arrowverse crossover to his former castmates was a no-brainer for reasons both personal and professional.

Rosenbaum explained that Warner Bros reached him while he was in Florida visiting his grandfather in a nursing home. The pitch wasn’t the most enticing offer, as Rosenbaum recounts: “Their offer: No script. No idea what I’m doing. No idea when I’m shooting. Basically no money. And the real kick in the ass: “We have to know right now.

Michael Rosenbaum rejects Lex Luthor return in Crisis on Infinite Earths

After last week’s exciting announcements that Tom Welling and Erica Durance would be reprising their Smallville roles of Clark Kent and Lois Lane in The CW’s Arrowverse crossover Crisis on Infinite Earths, many fans hoped to get more of a Smallville reunion with Michael Rosenbaum returning as Lex Luthor. Sadly, however, Rosenbaum will not be appearing in the anticipated event.

The actor revealed on his Twitter account that he was offered a role in the crossover, but he ultimately passed on the opportunity. The problem, it seems, came from a lack of information regarding the size of the role and when he would be needed to shoot his scenes as well as family commitments.

Here ya go.

Jon Cryer Denies Demi Moore Took His Virginity But Admits He Was 'Over the Moon for Her'

Jon Cryer Denies Demi Moore Took His Virginity But Admits He Was 'Over the Moon for Her'
Jon Cryer has “not a regret in the world” about his brief romance with Demi Moore — but he is correcting the star on the status of his virginity at the time.

The 54-year-old actor denied that Moore, 56, had taken his virginity after she wrote about it in her new memoir Inside Out.

“Well, the good thing about this is she doesn’t have to feel bad about it anymore, because while I’m sure she was totally justified making that assumption based on my my [sic] skill level (and the stunned look on my face at the time), I had actually

Jon Cryer Responds to Demi Moore's Memoir Claim That She Took His Virginity
Jon Cryer is setting the record straight on his virginity, or lack thereof.  How did this become a topic of conversation, some may ask? Well, it all started when Demi Moore somberly revealed that she took the Two and a Half Men star's virginity when they worked together on No Small Affair. In her new memoir Inside Out, she shared, "I played a young nightclub singer, and Jon Cryer played the nineteen-year-old photographer who falls in love with her, in his first movie role. Jon fell for me in real life, too, and lost his virginity to me while we were making that movie." While her first claim was shocking enough, Demi added another layer to the story by revealing...

Black Lightning’s Cress Williams on joining the Arrowverse for Crisis on Infinite Earths

Having been kept separate from the Arrowverse since its 2017 premiere, Black Lightning will finally be crossing over with Arrow, The Flash, Supergirl, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow and the new Batwoman series this December as part of the five-episode event Crisis on Infinite Earths.

“I was excited [when it was announced], but not, I’d say, surprised because the fans have been wanting this since they announced that we were a show,” said Black Lightning himself, Cress Williams, during an interview with Entertainment Weekly to discuss his appearance in the big team-up. “They were already like, ‘Are you going to be in the crossover? When are you gonna be in the crossover?’ They always wanted it from day one. The unofficial rumblings behind the scenes had been just growing. It got to the point, especially after Comic-Con, that I would’ve been more shocked if [they said], ‘No, this is never going to happen.'”

Smallville’s Erica Durance joins Tom Welling in DC’s Crisis on Infinite Earths

Yesterday it was revealed that Tom Welling is set to reprise his Smallville role as Clark Kent for The CW’s upcoming Arrowverse event Crisis on Infinite Earths, and it seems that Welling’s Superman will be bringing Erica Durance’s Lois Lane with him.

Durance – who has previous Arrowverse experience having starred in Supergirl as Alura Zor-El – will join Welling in multiple episodes of the five-part DC crossover, with Crisis also promising to reveal what the two characters have been up to in the decade since Smallville.

Crisis is now up to three versions of Superman and two Lois Lanes in Durance and Elizabeth Tulloch; however, according to Deadline, there are no plans to include other versions of Lois such as Teri Hatcher.

Crisis on Infinite Earths will begin with Supergirl on December 8th, followed by Batwoman on December 9th and The Flash on December 10th before concluding on

Smallville’s Tom Welling to reprise Clark Kent role for Crisis on Infinite Earths

It seems that Tyler Hoechlin and Brandon Routh’s Supermen aren’t enough for the upcoming Arrowverse crossover Crisis on Infinite Earths, as The CW has announced that Smallville star Tom Welling is set to guest star as Clark Kent in the five-episode DC event.

“For eight years, Arrow has stood on the shoulders of Smallville,” said executive producer Marc Guggenheim. “Simply put, there would be no Arrow, and no Arrowverse, without it. So when we first started talking about Crisis on Infinite Earths, our first, second and third priorities were getting Tom to reprise his iconic role as Clark Kent. To say that we’re thrilled would be a Superman-sized understatement.”

Supergirl: The Complete Fourth Season Now Available On Blu-ray

Even with the fall TV season almost upon us, there are still a few DC TV home video releases to discuss. As of today, Supergirl: The Complete Fourth Season is finally available for purchase on Blu-ray, and we’re here to go over the finer points.

For those not caught up, know that once you begin viewing this latest set, you’ll witness a season unlike previous offerings. In short, Kara Zor-El (Melissa Benoist) must now contend with the newest big bad in National City, that being Agent Liberty. Though the political subtext that ensued proved to be too much for a number of viewers, know that Smallville alum Sam Witwer brought his A-game to his latest villainous role. Even if you wind up disagreeing with him, the producers make sure you understand his perspective entirely.

Truth be told, it could be argued that Lex Luthor is the true big bad here.

Emmy episode analysis: Michael Douglas (‘The Kominsky Method’) makes the laughs and tears flow in emotional pilot
Two-time Oscar winner Michael Douglas made a triumphant return to the small screen with “The Kominsky Method,” his first episodic television series since “The Streets of San Francisco” in 1972-76. The role of Sandy Kominsky, an aging acting coach who enjoyed a brief brush with fame, earned him an Emmy nomination in Best Comedy Actor.
