Ivan Reitman Has Dropped Some Info on Paul Rudd's Character in the Upcoming Ghostbusters 3

Details of the newest film in the Ghostbusters franchise, Ghostbusters 2020, have been scarce at best, so every little bit of casting or story news we get is pretty dang exciting. This past weekend, Universal Studios Halloween Haunt hosted its press preview night, and Dan Aykroyd and original director, now producer, Ivan Reitman took a stroll through the new Ghostbusters maze.

While at the event, a reporter for Et was able to ask Reitman if he could tell a little bit about Paul Rudd’s character. The only thing we knew about him up to this point was that he was a teacher at the young characters’ school.

Here’s what Reitman had to say:

“Well, he’s a seismologist who’s come to this small town because they’ve been having mysterious earthquakes. He’s also teaching summer school there.”

This is pretty cool. It probably means that there

Video Game Review – Groundhog Day: Like Father, Like Son

Shaun Munro reviews Groundhog Day: Like Father, Like Son…

Video games based on movies historically have a wonky rep, and rightly so. When you throw the challenges of Vr gaming into the mix too, along with the complexity of timey-wimey source material, it has so much potential for disrespectful disaster.

But thankfully with Tequila Works at the helm – the team behind Vr murder-mystery romp The Invisible Hours – the classic 1993 Bill Murray-starring time loop comedy Groundhog Day gets a winningly reverent and oft-ambitious Vr follow-up.

Groundhog Day: Like Father, Like Son takes place following the death of Murray’s movie protagonist Phil Connors, focused instead on his son, also named Phil. Phil Jr., a vlogger, finds himself back in his sleepy, podunk hometown of Punxsutawney to cover the annual Groundhog Day festivities, only to himself end up trapped in the very same time loop that huaranged his father decades prior.

10 Ways That Ghostbusters (2016) Was Better Than The Original Movies

In 1984, Ghostbusters hit theatres and captivated a generation with its signature charm and humor that would be considered iconic in the years to come. Starring Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Harold Ramis, and Ernie Hudson as the main cast's fantastic four, the film is regarded as a timeless classic today.

1989 would bring the release of the slightly-inferior Ghostbusters 2, which featured more misadventures from our favorite unlikely heroes. Both Ghostbusters films are undoubtedly classics, but one thing that ages them terribly is Annie Potts's role.

Potts portrays Janine Melnitz, who serves at the gang's secretary. She definitely put on an unforgettable performance, but the position of the character contributed to tired and toxic stereotypes nonetheless. This is where the magic of the highly underrated 2016 reboot of Ghostbusters comes in.

This era is chock-full of very unnecessary remakes and reboots, but Ghostbusters (2016) stands apart.

Ghostbusters: The Video Game Resmastered Coming This Fall

Film and video games aren’t exactly known to mesh well. Generally speaking, in fact, such crossovers are often considered cash grabs, cobbled together with insultingly small budgets and frequently considered some of the worst games ever made. Both Gearbox Software’s Aliens: Colonial Marines and Transformers: The Game are proof enough of that. But you know what they say – rules are made to be broken.

Ghostbusters: The Video Game Remastered is one such exception and is scheduled to arrive in just a few months. Originally released in 2009 for the last generation of consoles, Terminal Reality’s action-adventure based on the iconic film series was lauded for its dedication to authentically replicating the movies, even going so far as to feature each main character from the films. Not content with securing the likenesses of Dan Akroyd, Harold Ramis, Bill Murray and Ernie Hudson, each actor even contributed vocals to their respective characters,
