This movie is so underrated. The setting and the whole B-movie vibe that this movie gives while still giving me perfectly likeable characters and good dialogue and perfect pacing is what makes this one of my favorite movies of all time. The probably best aspect about this movie is though, that one of the two protagonist is turning into the antagonist throughout the movie and while this is totally clear to the audience AND the protagonist, who is the antagonists sister, you still hope for everything to turn out just fine. You emphasize with both of the characters because you can relate to them to a certain extent while both of them have totally contrary personalities. The werewolf as a metaphor for female puberty is also a fun idea and fits the film just fine and adds a humorous note to this strange but perfectly mixture of dark comedy, drama, coming off age and horror movie. It is the only horror movie that I would watch if there wasn't a werewolf in it. Just for the characters.

Based on real life events this is a dramatization of the murder of Bobby Kent by his best friend and his girlfriend. It plays almost like one of those cheesy crime "documentaries" like "Wicked Attraction" but its way more explicit. It's very raw. Larry Clarks best movie by far.
