Opus Zero (2017)
Nicely photographed but emotionally empty film. It is splint in two sections, the first one seems slightly interesting but the transition to the second loses one completely.
Pros: Photography Locations Willem Dafoe's acting Some lines of dialogue Usage of music Cons: Pacing Plot Character Development Empty, pretentious presentation Lack of a satisfying setup and conclusion Change in protagonists/point of view 4.5/10
Slow paced, uneventful King adaptation
The movie although well produced, lacks an intriguing plot and interesting characters. The lead performance from Jane gets old rather quickly, his voice soon becoming a chore to listen too. The rest of the characters commit an even worse crime: they are unmemorable. In a year filled with Stephen King adaptations, 1922 stands out as the worst of the lot
The Punisher (2017)
Pretty good, but not great
The Punisher is an overall good show from Marvel, but overall, probably not what most fans expected. It does not have the usual feel of a Punisher story and misses some of the traditional elements.
Acting performances (especially Bernthal)
Lack of action
Short screen time for the full-fledged Punisher
Overuse of flashbacks
Great Star Wars TV show
Although it is a kid's show it recaptures the magic of the classic Star Wars better than a film like Rogue One. It has likable characters, good jokes and funny easter eggs towards all of the movies.
Overall, the show comes recommended for Star Wars fans and children.
Although not an overall bad experience, I found Castlevania to be a highly disappointing adaptation of the video games, and only mediocre if taken as its own thing.
Good voice acting Nicely animated Character designs/locations
Opening credits sequences
Lack of creature variety/game enemies
Music/ Lack of Castlevania themes
Unoriginal character arcs/characterization
Lack of villainous presence after Episode 1
Lack of story progression
