Extraordinary - Brilliant -Excellent
22 May 2017 | by (Australia) – See all my reviews

Fortunately, for once we in Australia got to watch the release of this brilliant series at the same time as the US audience. Australia has just finished a multi-year Royal Commission into Institutional Child Abuse, with revelations that have shocked the country and possibly brought a sense of closure for its brave victims. I watched this series straight through, could not stop watching it and even got complaints from neighbors to turn the TV down late into the night. It was truly disturbing to see, once again, the Catholic Church covering up these crimes in such a frightening manner that it is unfathomable. Having grown up in a Catholic environment and now not having the desire to even walk inside a church, it makes me fearful to see the almost hypnotic power that these so called representatives of God still have over whole communities of people.

Absolute credit must go to the people still involved in this open murder case who work to bring justice to the victim Sister Cathy Cesnik. Absolute credit and admiration to the surviving victims who maintain the strength to pursue justice for themselves and other victims.

The series is real documentary-making at its finest, with superb musical accompaniment and just sheer simple fact telling. Be prepared for facts that are REALLY hard to hear, that even to this day are frightening. What was once sheer disgust toward the religion in which I grew up in has since having watched this series, turned into a real and quantifiable fear of the power of the Church. An absolute MUST WATCH - BRILLIANT
