Godman, show some emotion!
8 January 2018 | by See all my reviews

I've bailed on this after enduring the whole of the first episode.

Are we meant to care what happens to these characters? Do any of them have any redeeming qualities?

Will Alex Godman (played by James Norton) ever show any emotion? So far, James Norton appears unshaken, barely even stirred. There's a bit towards the end of the first episode, where he "confronts" the big bad Mister Big, where his face is so expressionless that I was reminded of a Gerry Anderson Thunderbirds-era supermarionette: the mouth is moving but no one's at home.

And I really can't buy the fact that his character is supposedly public (aka private) school educated and allegedly a quintessential English gentleman. James Norton is either miscast or misdirected.

Not even the indomitable Faye Marsay can save this turkey.
