Due to the police cordon around the area, the best view of the siege for the public came from a hill about three miles away. One of the people that flocked to this spot was Timothy McVeigh, who came to witness what was happening for himself. Two years later, on the second anniversary of the last day of the Waco siege, McVeigh set off a bomb outside of a government building in Oklahoma City. Investigators would later learn that the Waco siege played a big part in convincing McVeigh to act against what he saw as a tyrannical government. See more
