ABC TV Shows: 2017-18 Viewer Votes

Every year, the ABC television network introduces new TV series, which are either cancelled or renewed by the season's end. Likewise, among existing shows which were initially renewed and returned for another installment, there are always some under-performers that end up as the television vulture's TV dinner du jour. Although everyone understands the Nielsen ratings usually play a big role in TV cancellations and renewals, most fans do not get to participate in that system. Since so many viewers' opinions do not factor into the Alphabet Network's programming decisions, we are offering you the chance to submit your own ABC TV show ratings to us, instead. You can vote on the following ABC TV series that have premiered (so far) during the 2017-17 television season: America's Funniest Home Videos, American Housewife, The Bachelor, Black-ish, Child Support, Dancing with the Stars, Designated Survivor, Fresh Off the Boat, The

Newswire: Ali Wong and Randall Park to play mismatched lovers in Netflix comedy

As reported by Deadline, Ali Wong and Randall Park have signed on to star in an untitled comedy film for Netflix about a pair of childhood friends who reconnect as adults and fall in love despite “vastly different socioeconomic situations.” Wong and Park wrote the movie along with Michael Golamco, and Netflix is reportedly “moving quickly” to find a director. That’s about all we know at this early stage, but at the very least this news is an indication that Netflix is willing to make it’s relatively sparse collection of original comedy movies a bit less dependent on Adam Sandler and his friends—even if those movies are reportedly very popular.

This movie will also be a sort of ABC sitcom team-up, as Wong currently appears in the network’s American Housewife and Park is the star of Fresh Off The Boat.

Emmy Fyc Campaigns 2017: The Political, The Unconventional and The One We’ll Remember Most
This year, there are over 20,000 people who get to select the nominees and winners of the Emmys, and hundreds of shows are vying for their attention. In 2016, we were struck by some of the creativity that studios and networks used in pushing out the word about various shows.

Things seemed more subdued on a street level in 2017, though Emmy campaign expert Rich Licata told IndieWire that the networks did seem plenty active when it came to advertising buys.

Read More: Emmy Predictions 2017

“A lot of it unfortunately has turned into white noise,” Licata said, “because there were so many programs and so many networks that I don’t know how a responsible voter can really focus and say, ‘Ok, I’m going to watch all this.'”

Up against nearly impossible odds, there were some shows that were able to stand out, thanks to either completely rejecting the system, redefining
