The exterior of the Otto's house is the "Paramount House" on Colonial Street on the Universal Studios Hollywood backlot. It was previously used as the Cleaver's house in Leave It to Beaver (1957) and as the Welby residence in Marcus Welby, M.D. (1969). See more »
I really love Katy Mixon so when I saw she was coming out with a show I was totally on board and couldn't wait to set my DVR. But from the very beginning this show was all about how fat she was. I get that she lives in a community of skinny snobby ladies but sheesh, love yourself for a minute. It was very disappointing that was the whole focus for her character. I do have to say I loved all the characters of her family especially Anna Kat. I think they are great together. I could not stand her best friends. Black lesbian and Asian nerd. Total cliché for the outcasts. And they totally overacted their roles. I'm sure they can find other toned down people to be her friends. They can be black, they can be Asian, they can be lesbian but don't play to the cliché is all I'm saying. Anyway, I will give it one more try because I really do love her as an actress. Hopefully it gets better from here and it doesn't just focus on her weight all the time.
