Trivia

In season 1 episode 2, Snart calls Ray "Boy Scout", this may be a reference to Brandon Routh's previous role as Superman in Superman Returns (2006). Superman is often referred to as "Boy Scout" or "the Blue Boy Scout" by other members of the Justice League, especially Batman, due to his ingrained sense of honour and justice and his unwillingness to kill even his most fearsome enemies. Quotes

[season 2 intro]
Dr. Martin Stein: The Time Masters were an organization charged with protecting history from rogue time travelers, but they were destroyed. Under the leadership of Rip Hunter, we have taken up their mantle. Sara Lance, former member of the League of Assassins; Dr. Raymond Palmer, the Atom; the arsonist Mick Rory; and Firestorm, the merged super form of Jefferson Jackson and myself, Martin Stein. We are the only ones left to protect history. We are the Legends of Tomorrow.

Clichéd storyline with poor casting = a show that sucks
10 March 2016 | by (United States) – See all my reviews

I've been looking forward to this show since that last ep of Flash. The trailer looked good and I was excited. Unfortunately all the talent must have gone into creating the trailers and marketing the show, because the actual product... well it really blows..

What a disappointment.

I gave it a try too, watched all the episodes hoping the writers will find their footing eventually, but I guess not.

Here are what sucks about the show:

  • Rip Hunter -- I think the actor is all wrong for the part, he has no

chemistry with anyone and he's supposed to lead the team!!! So far he seems to be in the way and an annoyance more than anything. His clichéd storyline of avenging the deaths of his wife and son (ugh) already bored me to tears. With so many good and unpredictable shows around (e.g Shades of Blue), you CANNOT be this boring and clichéd.

  • The two (now one) winged people -- again these were the most dreary

actors acting the dreariest of parts. They were so depressing, neither one looked like they wanted to be there. They were made tolerable in The Flash despite their individual awfulness, I think the writers on Flash really deserves praise for that.

  • Captain Cold and Heatwave -- the two best actors on the show made up

some of the least horrible scenes that were at least mildly entertaining, but barely scratched their acting skills. Why waren't they used more??

  • Canary -- not used nearly enough, again a talent that is wasted by

poor writing

  • Firestorm duo -- again, they were great in the Flash. But somehow on

this show, they just don't pop. Even scenes that are supposed to be touching or meaningful end up flat or are spoiled by the pace of the show.

  • The Atom -- he was good in Arrow and the Flash buit in legends of

Tomorrow, this poor guy comes across as a very flat 2-dimensional character. He's used mostly for (weak) jokes and laughs.

In short, after watching and giving up on Legends of Tomorrow, I have a newfound appreciation for the shows that are actually GOOD and the writers that produce those awesome shows.
