Ellen Page Says Brett Ratner Outed Her at 18 Years Old With a Homophobic Slur on the ‘X-Men’ Set

Ellen Page Says Brett Ratner Outed Her at 18 Years Old With a Homophobic Slur on the ‘X-Men’ Set
Ellen Page has posted a powerful essay on her Facebook page in which she responds to the numerous sexual harassment and assault allegations taking place in Hollywood by revealing her own history with abusive directors, and admitting that she is ashamed of working with such alleged predators as Woody Allen. According to Page, Brett Ratner made a homophobic slur to her during the first day of filming on “X-Men: The Last Stand,” where Page was starring as Kitty Pryde, and therefore outed her to the cast and crew.

Ellen Page Recalls Her Own Near-Death Experience: 'I Really, Truly Thought This Is It'
Ellen Page’s closest brush with death sounds like a load of bull.

The actress, 30, who plays a medical student studying the afterlife in her new movie Flatliners, told People about a time she barely escaped a personal visit to the great beyond.

“One time I was shooting a movie in Portugal,” she said, explaining that after one particularly long day of filming in the countryside, she decided to sleep in her trailer, rather than driving all the way back to her hotel.

“I went for a walk in the morning with the director in this field, and then all

Exclusive Interview – Composer Nathan Barr on his score for Flatliners, his musical voice, and more

Alex Moreland chats with composer Nathan Barr

So, first of all, how did you first get involved with Flatliners?

The head of music at Sony, Spring Aspers, brought me in to submit a demo when they decided to replace their initial composer. They wanted to try a different musical direction. I submitted sort of a bunch of tracks from previous projects and they really liked the tracks and though I could bring something really cool to the film. So, nothing more exciting than that [laughs]

I suppose, how you describe the musical style of the movie?

I mean it’s sort of got electronic and synth underpinnings, which is a little unusual for me in that it has orchestral elements over the top of that. The intent of that, by the director Niels Arden Oplev, was to keep the, sort of, energy and sound of the score in a youthful place,

This weekend in theatres, I'm excited to check out American Made and Flatliners!

Based on a true story, Tom Cruise reunites with his Edge of Tomorrow director, Doug Liman (The Bourne Identity, Mr. and Mrs. Smith), in this international escapade based on the outrageous exploits of a hustler and pilot unexpectedly recruited by the CIA to run one of the biggest covert operations in U.S. history. With a lot of the action taking place up in the sky, this is a must see in IMAX!

Canada's own Ellen Page along with Diego Luna and Nina Dobrev star in Flatliners. Five medical students, obsessed by the mystery of what lies beyond the confines of life, embark on a daring and dangerous experiment: stopping their hearts for short periods of time,

Talk about a confusing timeline!

Comic book fans are already familiar with Candice Patton's portrayal of Iris West, Barry Allen's love interest on CW's The Flash. But now it's almost time to get ready for a new Iris, as Kiersey Clemons takes on the role for the big screen in Flashpoint, a part of the DC cinematic universe.

Et caught up with the actress at the premiere of her film Flatliners, in theaters Sept. 29, to get the details on how her version of Barry Allen's girl  -- opposite Ezra Miller as the Fastest Man Alive -- will be different from her TV counterpart.

"I mean, to be honest, I haven't tried to pull from her at all," she said. "I want my Iris West to be its own world."

“We've put together a crowdfunding campaign to support those who lost everything after the earthquakes in Mexico,” Luna told Et’s Ashley Crossan during a press event on Wednesday for his new film, Flatliners. “We had three earthquakes in less than 20 days and the destruction is massive and we need a lot of help.”

'American Made' and 'Flatliners' Target Spots in the Weekend Box Office Top Five

'American Made' and 'Flatliners' Target Spots in the Weekend Box Office Top Five
As of the end of the day Wednesday, the month-to-date gross is less than $6 million shy of becoming the largest September ever. Much of the month's $620+ million is thanks to the record performance from It, which has grossed over $272 million domestically and $500 million globally. The month should become the largest September ever by the end of day today and this weekend offers one last chance to add to the total with new releases including Tom Cruise's American Made and Sony's Flatliners remake hitting theaters. Mojo's weekend forecast has the top twelve bringing in around $89 million, which would mean the month is likely to finish over $690 million, though just a bit shy of becoming the first September ever to hit $700 million. A pair of holdovers are likely to repeat atop the weekend box office beginning with Fox's Kingsman: The Golden Circle, which should pull in somewhere around $19.5 million, again finishing

The Preview Reel: American Made & Flatliners

Welcome to the “Preview Reel” column, where we look at the week’s upcoming wide-release movies. Last weekend’s box office was lower than expected with Kingsman: The Golden Circle failing to hit $40 million, The Lego Ninjago Movie barely earning $20 million, and Friend Request recording the worst wide opening of all-time with a mere $2 million across 2,500 screens. This week, Kingsman will be doing battle with the new Tom Cruise vehicle, American Made, while the Flatliners remake will most likely be dead on arrival. But will either movie be good? Let’s find out.

American Made

What we are excited about: The last time Tom Cruise and director Doug Liman teamed up was for Edge of Tomorrow (or Live. Die. Repeat. whichever stupid title you prefer) in 2014, and while American Made is a completely different movie, we’re excited for their next collaboration. Liman is known for his fast and loose

Tom Cruise’s ‘American Made’ Battles ‘Kingsman 2,’ ‘It’ at Weekend Box Office

Tom Cruise’s ‘American Made’ Battles ‘Kingsman 2,’ ‘It’ at Weekend Box Office
Tom Cruise has arrived to cap a record September at the box office. But it won’t end with a bang.

He’s starring in this weekend’s widest launch, Universal’s “American Made,” which is expected to land in the low to mid-teens at 3,023 locations. While that’s certainly not ideal for an action feature with a major movie star attached, the film’s finances are partially bolstered by having already earned more than $60 million overseas. Still, there’s a good chance that it will be overshadowed by the recent string of R-rated releases including “It” and “Kingsman: The Golden Circle.”

Flatliners' Steve Byers talks shooting in his native TorontoFlatliners' Steve Byers talks shooting in his native TorontoMarni Weisz - Editor, Cineplex Magazine9/27/2017 10:54:00 Am

Every actor knows, you always say yes.

When a director asks, “Can you ride a horse?” Yes. “Bungee jump?” Yes. “Speak Mandarin?” Yes. You figure it out later.

So when Flatliners director Niels Arden Oplev asked Steve Byers if he could drive standard, well, that was an easy one. At some point in his life the Toronto actor had been behind the wheel of a standard vehicle.

Byers (TV’s "Reign", "Slasher" and "Falcon Beach") had been cast as Sam, boyfriend to Marlo (Nina Dobrev), one of the medical students experimenting with near-death experiences in the spooky sequel to 1990’s Flatliners.

Oplev was thrilled. He’d found a vintage Porsche he wanted to use, and it was only available in standard.

“I said to my wife,
