Storyline

Darius is a young intern at a Seattle-based magazine and jumps at the chance to investigate the author of a classified ad seeking someone to travel back in time with. Along with Jeff, the staff writer, and Arnau, a fellow intern, the three go on a road trip to a coastal town. While Jeff just wants to chase after his high school crush and Arnau wants some kind of life experience, Darius spends her time with Kenneth, a man who believes that he has built a time machine. The closer they become and the more they understand about each other, the less clear it becomes if Kenneth is just crazy or if he actually is going to successfully travel back in time. Trivia

When the time travel ad is shown in the beginning, there are ads surrounding it for a Datsun and 1979 Hornet Wagon. Both of these cars are seen when the magazine trio is in Ocean View. Kenneth drives a first generation Datsun Z car and when Darius follows him to the "secure location" after he's done with work, they are spooked in the alley by a 1975-1977 Hornet Wagon, as AMC did not make a 1979 Hornet. Goofs

When Darius is backing up the van to pick up Kenneth during the laser robbery, it is obviously a shot of the van driving forward (used a few shots later), but run backwards - exhaust goes into the tailpipe. See more »

The title is the most interesting thing about this movie
17 June 2013 | by See all my reviews

I feel forced to add my opinion to counter all the incomprehensible praise for this movie.

Stop while you are ahead. This movie is not charming nor endearing. It is cliché driven. Every character is a stereo-type without an interesting twist. Come on… a young man of Indian descent that needs to get laid? A boss that manipulates the expense account and system for his own purposes? That abuses interns? A cynical hipster girl ? This is all original stuff. In 1948 maybe. The dialogue & humor (if we can call it that) is banal. The acting (or possibly the directing) made me notice they were acting. The ending was "so what". And anyway, what was the safety concern? And why did you need to BYO weapons? Not one character brought me into the movie emotionally, and the camera work put me to sleep. Something put me to sleep. Really.
