Goofs

Samuel L. Jackson states that Up is the second film to be nominated for both Best Picture and Best Animated Film. This is incorrect since the only other animated film to be nominated for Best Picture was Beauty and the Beast, but it was not nominated for Best Animated Film. The category didn't exist in 1991. Quotes

Sandy Powell - Winner: Best Costume Design: Wow. Well, I already have two of these, so I'm feeling greedy. I'd like to dedicate this one to the costume designers that don't do movies about dead monarchs or glittery musicals. The designers that do the contemporary films and the low-budget ones that actually don't get as recognized, and they should do and they work as hard. So this is for you, but I'm gonna take it home tonight. Thank you.

Oscar night has come and gone once again
8 March 2010 | by (United States) – See all my reviews

I always look forward to the Oscars! This was the most enjoyable one for me in a long time. Alec Baldwin and Steve Martin were great hosts -- very funny. Baldwin is the epitome of cool. The only real disappointment was that there were no real surprises in most of the categories. So I made a pact with myself next year not to read magazines newspapers or watch television shows that pertain to Oscar predictions. Just so there will be an element of surprise next year.

Regardless of that it was one of the best Oscar telecasts in a long time. The tributes to the lead actors and actresses prior to the announcement of the winners in those categories was a bit tedious for me, even though, as I said, I pretty much knew who would win. Even at almost 3 and a half hours, it was pretty entertaining.
