Something Everyone Should Watch

For the average person who knows little of Hip-Hop and its roots, the first two hours of this documentary is accurate, educational and entertaining. I rate it a 10 because it does justice to people who do not listen to Hip-Hop but want to know more. The only thing I would say detracts from the movie is the full hour spent on the conflict between rappers Tupac and Biggie, and the lack of time spent on underground Hip-Hop. The footage on Hip-Hop's roots and the beginning of DJing in the South Bronx is amazing, and I haven't been able to come by it any other way. Valuable interviews with legends Grand Master Flash and Darryl McDaniels (DMC of Run-DMC) give the documentary an added surprise. I highly recommend it to anyone interested in the history of Hip-Hop.
