Ninth ‘Saw’ Movie On The Way?

Jigsaw Review

Bloody Disgusting are reporting that there may be plans for a ninth movie in the hit Saw series. Jigsaw was released back in October and pulled in a touch over $100 million from a $10 million production budget.

The films are housed over at Twisted Pictures and Lionsgate, and there’s some movement over there which could lead to another film.

Blood Disgusting says that it’s just a “conversation” at the moment, and Jigsaw directors Michael and Peter Spierig will not be returning to their director’s chairs.

That’s all we have at the moment, but we’ll keep you updated with anything else we hear on the Saw 9 front.

Lionsgate is Looking To Make a Ninth Saw Film; Is Anyone Surprised?

Did you know that the eighth and most recent film in the Saw franchise, Jigsaw, was a huge success? The film was made on a budget of $10 million and it made over $100 million at the box office. That's an epic profit. So it shouldn't come as a surprise to you to learn that Lionsgate wants to make another sequel.

Even though Jigsaw (Tobin Bell) was killed off in Saw III, his horrific legend lives on and the studio just won't him really die. According to Bloody-Disgusting, Twisted Pictures is planning a ninth Saw movie and as of right now things are just in conversation mode. One thing they seem to know for sure is that Jigsaw directors Michael and Peter Spierig will not be returning to direct the film.

Jigsaw turned out to be an okay sequel, although it's pretty much more of the same. I just think they should

Saw 9 on the table after Jigsaw box office success

The violent games of the Jigsaw Killer seem set to continue, with the box office success of Saw franchise reboot Jigsaw sparking discussions around a ninth film in the series.

Serial killer John Kramer, played in all eight of the Saw films by Tobin Bell, was killed in the third movie, but his games have continued through a string of admirers and apprentices.

The franchise laid dormant for seven years after Saw: The Final Chapter in 2010, but last year’s reboot managed a box office haul of more than $100m from a budget of just $10m.

Bloody Disgusting reports that the success of the reboot means production company Twisted Pictures have begun “conversations” about continuing the franchise with another movie.

Michael and Peter Spierig, who directed Jigsaw, would not return to make another movie, leaving the myriad toys of this franchise in the hands of someone else.

Saw 9 conversations apparently underway

Simon Brew Jan 17, 2018

After the success of Jigsaw, the Saw franchise looks set to keep going...

The revival of the Saw franchise in the form of Jigsaw last year did the required business for Lionsgate and Twisted Pictures. The $10m production grossed over $100m worldwide at the box office, and should add a few coins off its incoming home release.

And as a consequence, conversations are now said to be underway about a further film, that would be Saw 9.

There’s nothing formal at this stage, and Bloody Disgusting reports that Jigsaw directors Michael and Peter Spierig wouldn’t return for the next film. We suspect it’s a case of when, rather than if, a further Saw movie happens, though. We'll keep you posted.

As for Jigsaw, it arrives on digital download on 19th February. And then on DVD, Blu-ray, Ultra HD 4K Blu-ray, Steelbook and boxset from 26th February.

Will Saw 9 Keep the Jigsaw Legacy Alive?

Will Saw 9 Keep the Jigsaw Legacy Alive?
Do you want to play a game for a ninth time? Even if you don't, it seems that the Saw franchise is far from dead. Jigsaw was incredibly successful at the box office, despite the fact that it didn't do much for critics or fans, if Rotten Tomatoes is to be believed. In any case, money talks and that means it's only natural that the producers of the Saw franchise see that there's possible money to be made with another installment. With that said, it looks like some discussions have started about making Saw 9 happen.

At the present time, that's about all we know, but a new report claims that Twisted Pictures is having a "conversation" about Saw 9 at the present time. Though this new report notes that it's merely talk at the moment, one has to imagine that they're taking this rather seriously. How could you not? Saw, at this point,

Lionsgate All But Ready To Proceed With Jigsaw Sequel

As much as I loved the original run of the Saw film franchise – for the most part – it was impossible to deny that Lionsgate simply burnt out moviegoers by releasing one flick per year over the span of seven, or that the series collapsed under its own weight with the haphazardly put together Saw: The Final Chapter, an entry that confounds me to this day.

Having assumed that the property had spent enough time on the shelf, the studio was more than happy to take another stab at it with last year’s Jigsaw, which, most fortunate for them, was a runaway success for all intents and purposes. Reports placed its budget at $10 million, so to hear that it raked in over $100 million at the worldwide box office means that sequel talk isn’t all that far-fetched.

Insidious: The Last Key review

What looks like the final chapter in the Insidious saga arrives in cinemas - but is it a good January horror?

The original Insidious (2011) was a welcome return to indie horror form for director James Wan and writer Leigh Whannell, who followed up their original breakthrough film, Saw, with a couple of misguided and forgettable excursions into major studio territory (anyone remember Dead Silence?). Insidious was intimate, original, a little insane and genuinely creepy; it established some of the stylistic and narrative devices that Wan would utilize for large-scale horror success with The Conjuring a couple of years later.

It was also a hit, which meant the 'we have a new horror franchise!' signs lit up at the offices of original backer Film District. So Insidious 2 came along in 2013, with Wan and Whannell taking up camera and pen again, but it proved to be an unnecessary, overplotted and often

Awesome Saw-Themed Escape Experience To Open In Las Vegas

Despite being a lifelong lover of the horror genre, I have to admit that I’ve never cared for the whole haunted house attraction concept. Call me crazy, but I never understood why I should lay down my money so that people in costumes can jump out from around corners at me. It’s thrilling to some, yes, but I find it to be comparable to dry toast and would rather watch paint dry.

Still, there are exceptions to the rule, as I envy those who were able to experience any attractions tied to the Resident Evil and Silent Hill franchises (yes, they did exist). Similarly, an attraction officially spun from the Saw line of films has caught my attention as well.

Set to open on January 26 in Las Vegas, Nevada, “‘The Official Saw Escape Experience’ will feature numerous themed rooms where guests will go toe-to-toe with the notorious Jigsaw.

The Liquidator (2017) by Xu Jizhou

Based on the novel “Evil Minds: City Light” written by Lei Mi, “The Liquidator” is an action blockbuster in Hollywood style, which features some resemblance with “Seven” in a very interesting combination. Let us see what the film amounts to, though.

The Liquidator comes to UK cinemas starting January 5th, via CineAsia

A series of gruesome and ritualistic murders dichotomize public opinion, since the victims have all been subjected to media controversy, and the perpetrator has adopted the persona of the vigilante. Detective Nam, who is in charge of the case, soon finds herself out of her depth, and her boss advises her to ask the help of forensic psychologist expert Mu, a former associate of the police who has been discharged due to some controversy of his own. Inspired by true events. On an isolated stretch of land 50 miles outside of San Francisco sits the most haunted house in the world. Constructed in an incessant twenty-four hour a day, seven days a week mania for decades, it stands seven stories tall and contains hundreds of rooms. To the outsider, it looks like a monstrous monument to a disturbed woman’s madness. But Sarah is not building for herself, for her niece (Sarah Snook) or for the troubled Doctor Eric Price (Jason Clarke) whom she has summoned to the house.

  • DailyDead
He’s co-starred in and written all four films in the Insidious series, and he even sat in the directorial seat for the previous sequel, but for The Last Key, Leigh Whannell is taking audiences, and franchise favorite Elise Rainier (Lin Shaye), back to the past, as we get to experience where it all started for our favorite parapsychologist, who must stop a powerful demonic force that once terrorized her as a young girl and is back to wreak more havoc.
