I find it extremely gratifying the way Ronnie has evolved over those last seasons. He was little more than a running joke (literally) during season one and most of season two, asking many why he would even be on the Strike Team. My position, even during those lean times for cool Ronnie moments, was, that he was an important part of the team because of his unassuming appearance. In other words: With three enforcers fighting over who's gonna break the door down first, you need the guy who watches outside, drives the get-away car etc., you need a seeming lackey. Only Ronnie isn't. After receiving his baptism of fire (again literally) due to Armadillo, the new improved and fully bearded Ronnie started to grow in stature and important actions since the second half of season two. Gradually, but steadily. He was still overshadowed by others in season three, came into his own in season four and is easily as cool as the other ones by season 5 and 6. When Vic finally breaks his silence about Terry's murder in season 6 and Ronnie coolly explains he knew all along what was going on shows you the real Ronnie. Silent and unassuming, but in the know and smarter than either Vic or Shane who are too impulsive. No matter how the story ends for Vic and Shane (and there's a good chance that they either end up dead or in jail) I think we will see Ronnie as the last man standing of the Strike Team - cool, calm and collected, not to mention free and alive. Oh, and back with his cool beard one would hope.
