  • Anacronismi: When Nixon is making his walk to the helicopter (after he has resigned) some of the Marine honor guard are holding M16A2 rifles (you can tell by the round hand grips); they were not used by the military until the early 80's.

  • Incorrectly regarded as goofs: A character is seen inserting soft contact lenses in 1972. Soft contacts were introduced in 1970.

  • Audio/video fuori sincrono: In the Watergate break-in scene, the camera is making the distinctive sounds of an auto-advance mechanism, but the photographer is manually advancing the film. Plus, there is no mechanism attached to the camera.

  • Anacronismi: The yellow sports style of binoculars used to spy on Haldeman's house did not exist in 1974

  • Anacronismi: Larry Jobs is said to become a millionaire by inventing Quaaludes, but Methaqualone was first introduced to the US market in 1965.

  • Anacronismi: Although the movie is set in 1972-73, Betsy's family is seen driving in a 1975 model Ford LTD Country Squire station wagon.

  • Factual errors: According to the director's commentary, President Richard M. 'Dick' Nixon's meeting with Leonid Brezhnev actually took place in Russia.

  • Factual errors: When the girls first meet President Nixon there is a conversation about the Vietnam War. They say to blame Johnson and someone says that he is dead and someone else says thank God. Johnson died in January 1973 and the scene was supposed to be right after the break in which was June 1972.

  • Continuity: When Betsy and Arlene are going back on the bus and their teacher is lecturing them, in the background of the bus there is a girl with big shiny blue glasses on which disappear and reappear between shots.

  • Continuity: Despite the movie starting in 1972 and moving into 1973, the newspaper showing the headline about the meeting with Brezhnev shows a 1974 date and a 1974 copyright line. Newspaper headlines about subsequent events in the movie have 1973 dates.

  • Anacronismi: Arlene Lorenzo is shown in the Oval Office singing Olivia Newton John's "I Honestly Love You," which was not released until 1974.
