Storyline

A brilliant scientist experiments with dead tissue regeneration, leading to organized crime making use of the creations as Ultimate Killing Machines! The doctor is blackmailed into creating "Cybernetic Zombie Assassins" (C.Z.A.'s) to carry out mob hits on rival gangsters. The scientist is killed when one of the hits goes wrong. The scientist's assistant then teams up with the doctor's son, and they send the C.Z.A.'s on a mission of revenge against the mob boss. A glitch, however, causes the monsters to go on a killing rampage throughout the city. The son is forced to go after the C.Z.A.'s, and he is nearly killed. He then decides, if you can't beat them, join them! He is brought back as a C.Z.A. to face off against the remaining zombies - leading to a showdown between "the ultimate killing machines"! Could have been worse, but no cigar
10 April 2003 | by See all my reviews

An action movie with no action, a film with gangsters but only half a gang, an interesting concept drowned in bog-standard dialogue, interesting (but cheap) sets marred by hideous film quality and lighting.

The foundations of the movie are solid, but it needed more prouction cash and some better dialogue (some of the bit-parts deliver their lines in a way which makes you cringe) in order to really pull it above the mire.

As it stands, it isn't a terrible movie, but it has nothing which puts it ahead of the thousands of other 'watch em once' films in the action/horrorish genres (and looks considerably shoddier than most). Some changes for the better would have perhaps made this into a cult movie like Crying Freeman, but that hasn't and won't happen.
