The Twilight Zone: CBS All Access Orders Revival Series from Key and Peele Creator

With all apologies to Rod Serling, call this, "The dimension of re-imagination." CBS has ordered The Twilight Zone TV show revival. CBS Television Studios is producing the new series with Jordan Peele’s Monkeypaw Productions and Simon Kinberg’s Genre Films. Peele and Kinberg are executive producing with Marco Ramirez, and the trio will collaborate on The Twilight Zone TV series premiere. The first season of Serling's The Twilight Zone premiered on CBS in 1959 and ran for five seasons of 156 episodes, before it was cancelled in 1964. That series previously spawned two TV series revivals -- one which ran on CBS from 1985 to 1989 and another, which ran on the now defunct Upn, for one season in 2002-03. The Twilight Zone franchise also includes novels, comic books, feature films, and more. Read More…

The Twilight Zone Reboot Moving Forward At CBS; Jordan Peele And Simon Kinberg To Produce

Not to be outdone by Netflix and Black Mirror season 4, CBS All Access is moving forward with a new interpretation of The Twilight Zone.

The Hollywood Reporter has the scoop, confirming that Get Out helmer Jordan Peele and Simon Kinberg will oversee development of the sci-fi revival, though CBS stopped short of mentioning an episode count and/or a tentative release window. Common logic dictates that the network will let this announcement simmer for some time while it tends to Star Trek: Discovery, its other high-profile All Access series that’s poised to conclude its opening season on January 7th.

What we do know, however, is that The Twilight Zone reboot has appointed Marco Ramirez (Daredevil) as showrunner, and Peele is of the belief that there’s no better time to reintroduce the seminal classic:

Too many times this year it’s felt we were living in a twilight zone,

‘Are You Afraid of the Dark?’ Movie Gets October 2019 Release
Paramount has set a Halloween season release date of Oct. 11, 2019, for its movie adaptation of the Nickelodeon horror series “Are You Afraid of the Dark?

The project was unveiled last month with “It” writer Gary Dauberman hired to write the script. Matt Kaplan is producing along with Dauberman.

Are You Afraid of the Dark?” was created by D.J. MacHale and Ned Kandel and ran as an anthology series on Nickelodeon between 1992 and 1996. It was set around a group of teenagers who called themselves the Midnight Society and would meet weekly at a secret location in the woods to tell a scary story. The show was revived in 1999 for two more seasons with new writers and showrunners.

Each episode was introduced with the storyteller saying “Submitted for the approval of the Midnight Society” and then announce the title of that segment. MacHale said that the line was a tribute to the series “The Twilight Zone,” in which creator

We Are So Here For Jordan Peele's Reboot of The Twilight Zone

Upon first hearing the news that The Twilight Zone is getting the dreaded reboot treatment, we were admittedly pretty nervous. Who has the stamina to cross a dimension as vast as space and as timeless as infinity? Who could ever venture into the middle ground between light and shadow, between science and superstition, between the pit of man's fears and the summit of his knowledge? While Rod Serling will forever remain our Twilight Zone fave, CBS All Access's remake of the classic has officially found a worthy successor: Jordan Peele. While The Twilight Zone doesn't skew straight horror all the time, we have a feeling the former Key and Peele comedian will be able to expertly nail the show's trademark eerie feel. He's already proved his horror chops tenfold with Get Out, one of this year's best movies, and has another social thriller in the works for 2019. CBS confirmed Peele's involvement on Dec.
