Clooney Gets Apology from Huffington

George Clooney has received an apology from US socialite/political commentator Arianna Huffington after she posted his comments on her website without properly attributing them. The Oscar-winning actor objected last week when the Huffington Post put up what appeared to be an original blog from Clooney, when it was actually a compilation of remarks he'd made in newspaper and TV interviews. Clooney originally agreed to let Huffington use his thoughts on America's Democratic Party on her website, but not in the context in which they appeared. Huffington, in a blog of her own posted over the weekend, apologized and admitted it was a "big mistake" not to identify where the material had come from. The website has established a new policy for dealing with such material in the future. Huffington said, "Any time the HuffPost uses re-purposed material we will identify it as such and source where it originally appeared and link to it."

Dunst Film Going to Cannes

Kirsten Dunst's new period movie Marie-Antoinette has been selected to compete at the coveted Cannes Film Festival in May. The Sofia Coppola-directed film, co-starring Shopgirl actor Jason Schwartzman, sees a 19-year-old Viennese girl became the queen of France in 1774 - before being famously beheaded. Marie-Antoinette is one of the early contenders for the Cannes top prize - the Palme d'Or. Director Ron Howard's long-awaited The Da Vinci Code, starring Tom Hanks and Audrey Tautou will open the 59th Cannes Film Festival, which runs between May 17 and 28.

Streisand To Tour

Singer/actress Barbra Streisand is planning a new extravagant 20-show tour - despite bidding farewell to fans with her "final" live concert in September 2000. The star reportedly plans to charge $1,500 for the best tickets, and hopes to pocket a staggering $2 million from each show. Operatic boy band Il Divo are being sought to become her opening act. A source tells PageSix.com, "They're trying to get Il Divo now. The big worry is, 'Can Barbra lose the extra 50 pounds she's put on?' She feels that confirming the dates is the only thing that will make her lose the weight. The promoter is Michael Cohl, who does the Rolling Stones."

Dancer Sues Musical Over "Breast-Related Dismissal"

A dancer has launched a $100 million lawsuit against the American musical Movin' Out, claiming she was emotionally abused and lost her job because her breasts grew too large for her costume. Alice Alyse was a leading performer in the show, which features music composed by Billy Joel, when she was sacked last month - and she claims she was dismissed because her breasts "became too big" following an injury lay-off. She says, "I was thin, I was a size zero, but my breasts had gotten bigger. When I tried on my costumes they fit everywhere except in the breast area." Legal papers filed in Miami-Dade Circuit Court on Monday list numerous charges including wrongful termination, breach of contract, defamation, sexual harassment and intentional infliction of emotional distress. Alyse's lawyer Larry Klayman says, "In the ballet world, obviously, people are small-breasted. On Broadway, what happened should be an attribute."

Is Longoria Teacher for Parker?

Desperate Housewives star Eva Longoria reportedly had to teach her basketball beau Tony Parker, how to please her in the bedroom, because he is so inexperienced. The 31-year-old actress has described their initial meeting to Allure magazine as "lust at first sight," but admits she had to lead the way for her 23-year-old French boyfriend in the bedroom. She explains, "Tony's only been with one other person in his life. I'm the experienced one. I'm the teacher, especially about love." Longoria, who is divorced from actor Tyler Christopher and was romantically linked with 'N Sync star JC Chasez, says the couple have no immediate wedding plans. The couple also has a difference of opinion when it comes to having children out of wedlock. Longoria says, "I would. Tony wouldn't. But we know exactly what we want in our future. Our children will speak French."

Washington Let Himself Go for 'Inside Man'

Denzel Washington had to play down his good looks for his latest part in the movie Inside Man, because he had to be a convincing "regular guy." The Oscar-winner had to shave his head and pack on some extra weight to play a cop who negotiates with a master criminal played by Clive Owen. He explains, "He's a regular guy. He's in over his head. He's been accused of stealing $140,000, his girlfriend wants to get married yesterday... This is the biggest case he's ever had, so he's got a few issues." The Training Day star insists his wife of 22-years, Pauletta, had no problems with her husband letting himself go for the role. He adds, "(She's fine) as long as I buy her something."

Garner Loses Baby Weight Slowly

New mom Jennifer Garner has turned her back on the extreme diets adopted by Tinseltown mothers in favor of healthy eating and a light exercise regime. The Alias star, who gave birth to daughter Violet last December, has enlisted the help of fitness guru Valerie Waters to shed the extra weight gained during her pregnancy. Waters says, "Jen is on target to getting back her pre-baby figure through moderate exercising and sensible eating. She's not jumping on that celeb mom bandwagon of getting super-skinny, super-quickly. She is more concerned about keeping healthy and spending time with Violet than anything else. So because she's a busy career woman and a hands-on mum who nurses the baby, it's unrealistic for her to aim for a rigorous exercise regime. I think it's great that Jen doesn't obsess about her weight and is losing it at a sensible rate."

Bruce Lee Musical To Hit Broadway

Martial arts superstar Bruce Lee is set to be the subject of a new Broadway musical featuring music provided by David Bowie. Theatre bosses want the show to be ready to premiere in 2008. According to Variety.com, Tony Award-winner David Henry Hwang has been hired to write the musical and Matthew Warchus is reportedly onboard to direct. Bowie has been linked to project because he was recently spotted chatting with Wachus in Toronto, Canada - where Warchus is poised to launch his new The Lord Of The Rings musical. The Bruce Lee musical follows hot in the footsteps of plans for a musical based on kung fu movie Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon.

'Chicago' Legal Battle

Oscar-winning musical Chicago is at the center of a new lawsuit - a producer is suing Hollywood studio Miramax claiming they owe him $10 million in unpaid takings. The Producer Circle Company alleges Miramax breached their contract, insisting they own the film rights to the show, but have not yet been awarded their share of the box office takings of the 2003 hit film. Legal papers name the Renee Zellweger and Catherine Zeta-Jones-starring musical as "the highest grossing and most profitable movie ever released by Miramax" and claim they are owed a percentage of the gross profits from DVD sales, cinema tickets and foreign distribution. A spokeswoman for the Producer Circle Company says, "While Producer Circle Company is unable to determine with precision the amounts that it is owed, it estimates that Miramax's breach of contract has cost it no less than $10 million." Miramax has yet to comment on the suit.

Stone Stays Single

Screen siren Sharon Stone has quit dating, as she is constantly expected to live up to unrealistic expectations. The sexy 47-year-old initially dazzles men with her glamorous persona, but her dates can't cope when they realize she is simply human. She tells the New York Daily News, "You date somebody and three months into the relationship you get the flu and he's so furious, he goes to his front-row seats at the basketball game without you because he doesn't want to be with the person who gets the flu. I stopped dating about a year ago, and decided to take some time to heal myself from a variety of traumas, that being one of them."
