'The Mighty Ducks' Television Series in Development
The Mighty Ducks may take the ice again as a television series about Disney's underdog Minnesota hockey team is currently in development.

The Hollywood Reporter writes that while the live-action series is still a long way from firing knucklepucks, screenwriter Steven Brill – who penned 1992's The Mighty Ducks and the sequels D2 and D3 – and producer Jordan Kerner have concocted a new story about the ragtag youth hockey team.

As there is not yet a script for the project, it's unclear if Emilio Estevez's Gordon Bombay or any

Did Kevin Spacey cost Netflix nearly $40 million? A source with knowledge of the situation confirmed to TheWrap the write-down was tied to cancelled Spacey projects. The story was first reported by Bloomberg. The Golden Globe and Oscar winner was exiled from the Netflix political drama following accusations of sexual misconduct in November. The streaming media and video-on-demand service later decided to bring the...

Twentieth Century Fox Television is reviewing a sexual-harassment claim against Zachary Lutsky, a prominent Hollywood medical consultant who currently works on Fox’s “The Resident” and was the subject of a human-resources investigation while working on ABC StudiosCode Black,” Variety has learned.

Has ABC Signalled Inhumans’ Cancellation?

Has ABC Signalled Inhumans’ Cancellation?
Bad news, Inhumans fans, it looks like ABC may have cancelled its fledging series after just one season.

Starring Iwan Rheon, Serinda Swan and Ken Leung, Inhumans got off to a rocky start. Spectacularly launched in IMAX, the Marvel TV show failed to pull in the critical or commercial acclaim that shows like Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. or Daredevil did. Even the honor of being first TV series to air in IMAX couldn’t save Inhumans from a universally panned debut season, meaning that the writing was already on the wall for the show, however, ABC may have just sealed its fate.

TNT Parts Ways With ‘Snowpiercer’ Showrunner Josh Friedman (Exclusive)

TNT Parts Ways With ‘Snowpiercer’ Showrunner Josh Friedman (Exclusive)
TNT has parted ways with Josh Friedman, the showrunner of the TV adaptation of “Snowpiercer,” Variety has learned exclusively.

Friedman was an executive producer on the project and wrote the pilot, which was shot last year. “Snowpiercer” was ordered to series by TNT earlier this month. A source close to the network cited creative differences as the reason.

The series, based on the 2014 Bong Joon Ho film, takes place seven years after the world has become a frozen wasteland and centers on a small band of people who inhabit a gigantic, perpetually moving train that circles the globe. Jennifer Connelly stars as Melanie Cavill, an important first-class passenger and leader who is fascinated by the less fortunate riders on the train. The “Snowpiercer” cast also includes Daveed Diggs, Mickey Sumner, Susan Park, Benjamin Haigh, Sasha Frolova, Katie McGuinness, Alison Wright, Annalise Basso, Sam Otto, Roberto Urbina, Sheila Vand and Lena Hall.

SAG Awards: Biggest Snubs and Surprises

SAG Awards: Biggest Snubs and Surprises
The Screen Actors Guild usually proves themselves to be creatures of habit: They reward the same stars, year in and year out — following their own patterns rather than setting any new trends.

But the night wasn’t completely by the books. Here’s a look at some of the award show’s biggest curveballs:

Surprise: “This Is Us” (NBC)

Admittedly, this race was a tough one to call: Good arguments could have been made for any of the nominees. But “Stranger Things” was a surprise win last year, and the SAG did it again, crowning the NBC tearjerker. The last time a broadcast series took home the trophy was in 2006 for ABC’s “Grey’s Anatomy.”

Snub: “Stranger Things” (Netflix)

Speaking of “Stranger Things,” the Netflix series went 0-for-4 tonight. Nothing for David Harbour, Millie Bobby Brown, the stunt team, or the cast — depriving viewers of yet another rousing speech from Harbour and Winona Ryder’s facial

Morgan Freeman’s Awkward Shoutout to Lily Tomlin Was The SAG Awards’ Most Unusual Moment — Watch

Morgan Freeman’s Awkward Shoutout to Lily Tomlin Was The SAG Awards’ Most Unusual Moment — Watch
As Morgan Freeman began his speech on stage at the SAG Awards on Sunday night, he suddenly stopped. “Hey … I’m talking to you. Yeah, hey,” he said to someone in the front of the audience. “Okay, well you just stand out to me for me, that’s all!”

At the time, it seemed like Freeman was either flirting with someone in the crowd, or chastising an audience member for being distracting as he began his acceptance speech as this year’s Lifetime Achievement Award honoree. (Sites like TMZ assumed it was the latter.) Watch the moment in the clip below.

But backstage, Freeman revealed to IndieWire that he actually was thrown by seeing a familiar face: Lily Tomlin. “She’s a wonder in herself and I’ve always loved her. I see her and I say hello!”

Unfortunately, Friends is not headed to the big screen. Over the weekend, a trailer featuring Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry and David Schwimmer went viral on social media, leading some fans to mistakenly believe that the actors were returning for a Friends movie. The fan-made video, published Jan. 12, racked up nearly 4 million views and renewed interest in a possible reunion. Thanks to some clever editing, it appeared as if Aniston's Rachel Green, Cox's Monica Geller-Bing, Kudrow's Phoebe Buffay, LeBlanc's Joey Tribbiani, Perry's Chandler Bing and Schwimmer's Ross Geller were back in each other's lives after going their separate ways in the NBC...

Peter Jackson To Direct First World War Feature Documentary

The announcement has been made that Peter Jackson will be making a documentary about the First World War, which makes sense because 2018 will see the centenary of its conclusion. Some people will be excited because Jackson was the director of not just The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit movies but also a number of other well-known movies as well, meaning that he brings considerable expertise and experience to this latest project. 10 Things You Didn’t Know about Hacksaw Ridge

Hacksaw Ridge was probably one of the most powerful war movies of this generation. So often it’s said that a good soldier is one that will bravely defend themselves and their country with every tool they are given and every advantage they can take. But one man found a way to save his fellow soldiers and never once lift a rifle or other weapon to save himself. Desmond Doss was a combat medic in World War II that adamantly refused to pick up a rifle based on his religious beliefs and because of personal reasons. He was harassed, beaten, and

Fox Still Expects Sky Takeover to Go Through, but Opponents Rejoice

21st Century Fox said Tuesday it remained confident of achieving British government approval of its proposed takeover of Sky, but campaigners against the deal rejoiced at the U.K. competition watchdog’s warning that it would weaken media plurality and undermine the public interest.

“A landmark finding by the Competition and Markets Authority,” former Labour Party leader Ed Miliband tweeted Tuesday. “The Sky deal would give the Murdochs too much power. Finally a regulator says No to the Murdochs.”

Iconic Movie Scenes Recreated Using iPhone X’s Animojis

Some of the most iconic movies are being recreated with the iPhone X’s animojis, and it’s kind of amusing really. How hard would you have to struggle not to laugh if you saw the animoji face of a puppy dog asking you what Marcellus Wallace looks like? Would you scream or bust up laughing if a talking pig face said “Heerrre’s Johnny!”? Animoji’s have been around for a while it seems like but using them like this is kind of hilarious but it also seems like people are just getting bored enough to get inventive. I won’t knock this kind
