‘The Sopranos’ Strip Club Location Satin Dolls Is Closing Amid Criminal Investigation

‘The Sopranos’ Strip Club Location Satin Dolls Is Closing Amid Criminal Investigation
In a case of life imitating art, the New Jersey location of Tony Soprano’s infamous Bada Bing! strip club has been shut down amid pending criminal investigation, the AP reports. The Lodi, New Jersey strip club Satin Dolls has been accused of solicitation of prostitution, lewd activity, and failure to account for “large amounts of cash moving in and out of the businesses.” “Illegal activity was glorified at the ‘Bada Bing’ in the fictional world of Tony Soprano, but it has no place in modern-day New Jersey,” said New Jersey Attorney General Christopher S. Porrino in a release. “It’s time to shut it down.”

The owners of Satin Dolls have been under investigation for six years, according to the Ag’s report. One of the owners, Anthony Cardinalle, admitted to federal income tax evasion in 1995, and pled guilty in 2013 to a racketeering conspiracy linked to the Genovese crime family.

When a successful television writer’s daughter becomes the interest of an aging filmmaker with an appalling past, he becomes worried about how to handle the situation.

However, making things more difficult is the blunt

‘Menendez Murders’ Star ‘Not Surprised’ Leslie Abramson Wasn’t a Fan of ‘Law & Order’ Series
“Law & Order True Crime: The Menendez Murders” actor Sam Jaeger isn’t shocked that defense attorney Leslie Abramson is not a fan of the NBC true-crime drama. Before the Dick Wolf-created limited series premiered in September, Abramson told TheWrap she did not plan to watch the show that stars Edie Falco as Abramson, who represented Erik Menendez in two murder trials in the 1990s. Erik and his brother Lyle were charged with murdering their parents. The retired attorney did not give a reason for not wanting to watch. “I’m not surprised by that reaction,” Sam Jaeger, who plays Detective Les Zoeller,

‘I Love You, Daddy’ Film Review: Louis Ck’s Shelved Comedy Is Queasy and Wrongheaded
Louis Ck’s “I Love You, Daddy” is queasy fare, not just because its rambling, self-indulgent story has strange and unfortunate associations with real-life allegations, but also for its tone-deaf narrative and offensive sexual politics. (Originally set for release this month, the film was dropped by distributor The Orchard in light of the allegations against the filmmaker, which he has acknowledged as true.) Pamela Adlon and Edie Falco are the only saving graces in an otherwise graceless movie by Ck, who stars and directs, 16 years after his last helming effort, “Pootie Tang.” At one point Adlon’s character, Maggie, a friend.

The Inconceivable Question of Why Louis C.K. Would Make 'I Love You, Daddy' in the First Place

The Inconceivable Question of Why Louis C.K. Would Make 'I Love You, Daddy' in the First Place
On Thursday, The Orchard announced it would be "giving careful consideration" to the release of Louis C.K.'s film, I Love You, Daddy, in the wake of allegations of sexual misconduct against the comedian. It took less than 24 hours of consideration for the distributor to scrap it altogether. Sure, you could do like Ridley Scott and recast C.K. with Christopher Plummer, but Plummer can't rewrite and reshoot the entire movie, too.

That the movie should never see the light of day is only a shame for one reason: the actresses, especially -- Chloë Grace Moretz, Edie Falco, Pamela Adlon, Rose Byrne -- give great performances. But also, there is no reason this movie ever should have happened. Considering C.K. is (or was) one of the most successful working standups and a six-time Emmy winner still extolled for his series, Louie, he seemingly could have made any movie he wanted. (Considering he self-funded
