Mark Hamill Shares Thanksgiving Tribute to Carrie Fisher

Mark Hamill Shares Thanksgiving Tribute to Carrie Fisher
Master of social media, Mark Hamill took a break from trolling Star Wars fans over the Thanksgiving holiday and instead shared some humorous messages along with a heartfelt tribute to the late Carrie Fisher, his on-screen sister. The Luke Skywalker actor shared some Star Wars Thanksgiving-themed memes featuring Porgs taking over the holiday as well as Darth Vader cutting a turkey with his Lightsaber and a cornucopia featuring Bb-8, among others. Those tweets were all well and good and gave fans some laughs while celebrating, but it was his tribute to Carrie Fisher that really got everybody's attention.

It's hard to believe that The Last Jedi is less than a month away, but it's even harder to fathom that it's been nearly a year since we lost Carrie Fisher. It's tough for fans, but immensely harder on those who knew and loved her, like Mark Hamill. Hamill took to Twitter

John Boyega has “a love/hate relationship” with the Porgs from Star Wars: The Last Jedi

If there’s one aspect of Star Wars: The Last Jedi that has divided fans during the film’s marketing campaign, it’s the porgs, the little bird-like creatures from Ahch-To. And it seems that’s true of the cast too, with John Boyega revealing to Entertainment Weekly that he had “a love/hate relationship” with the cute little critters on set.

“I just remember doing some stuff and seeing a lot of porgs around,” said Boyega. “And they are interesting, but for me, I had a love/hate relationship with them. They’re very, very cute, but when you put them in a bunch, in holes, on the Millennium Falcon, that’s when they start to become really, really freaky. They’ve got real big eyes, all bunched together. There were, like, little tiny ones and little big ones that would just…yeah, it looks like a rash.”

Chewbacca Abuses a Porg in New ‘Star Wars: The Last Jedi’ Teaser (Video)
Somebody might want to call the Aspca: The new teaser for next month’s “Star Wars: The Last Jedi” reveals some definite Wookiee-on-porg violence. Porgs are wide-eyed seabirds from Ahch-To, the planet where Luke Skywalker has been living in exile. And one of them is swatted down by Chewbacca while freaking out aboard the Millennium Falcon in the new teaser, which also shows Luke himself (Mark Hamill) returning to the jalopy of a spaceship. Star Wars: The Last Jedi’s Andy Serkis discusses Supreme Leader Snoke and his motivations

Having only made the briefest of appearances via hologram in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, December’s hotly-anticipated Star Wars: The Last Jedi is set to feature an expanded role for the saga’s latest villain, Supreme Leader Snoke.

While director Rian Johnson has warned us not to expect any major reveals and that his past will remain a mystery in Episode VIII, actor Andy Serkis has been chatting to EW about his character, giving us a little insight into his backstory.

“The thing about Snoke is that he is extremely strong with the Force, the dark side of the Force. He’s terribly powerful, of course. But he is also a very vulnerable and wounded character,” said Serkis. “He has suffered and he has suffered injury. The way that his malevolence comes out is in reaction to that. His hatred of the Resistance is fueled by what’s happened to him personally.

Star Wars: Mark Hamill Shares Thanksgiving Tribute To The Late, Great Carrie Fisher

The Skywalker twins have been a cornerstone of Lucasfilm’s Star Wars franchise for more than 40 years, but come December, The Last Jedi will effectively close the book on Luke and Leia’s star-crossed story, as Carrie Fisher is, sadly, no longer with us.

And while the Powers That Be initially flirted with the idea of resurrecting the actress for Episode IX – think of how Grand Moff Tarkin was brought back from the grave in time for Rogue One – Lucasfilm’s bigwigs soon scrapped those tentative plans, meaning Star Wars: The Last Jedi will signal Leia’s final appearance in the Skywalker saga.

It’ll be a bittersweet finale, too, given writer-director Rian Johnson vowed to write her out of the story, rather than killing off the Resistance General a la Han Solo. Mind you, Johnson has so far been coy about a potential Skywalker reunion taking place in The Last Jedi,

Porgs Really Freaked Out Star Wars 8 Star John Boyega
Long before the Porgs were revealed in Star Wars: The Last Jedi, there had been rumors that there are other creatures on Ahch-To, which took care of the planet. And there were even rumors that these creatures didn't like Rey, since she wasn't invited, and she has to prove herself worthy of being there. After getting our first glimpse at these creatures, there still isn't much that has been confirmed about them. In a new interview, John Boyega reveals that while Porgs are cute, they are also "freaky," especially when bunched together in a group. Here's what the actor had to say about these Porgs.

"I just remember doing some stuff and seeing a lot of Porgs around. And they are interesting, but for me, I had a love/hate relationship with them. They're very, very cute, but when you put them in a bunch, in holes, on the Millennium Falcon,

Rian Johnson is at the “very beginning” stages of planning his new Star Wars trilogy

Earlier this month, it was announced that Star Wars: The Last Jedi director Rian Johnson would be directing a brand-new trilogy set in the Star Wars universe. These films would be canon, but not following the Skywalker saga, effectively allowing the director to let his imagination go wild. So how much thought has Rian Johnson put into the project so far? Well, according to him, he’s still at the starting line (via Youtube):

“We’re gonna have to see. I’m just in the very beginning of starting to come up with what the new trilogy is going to be. But I can tell you this, what makes me so excited about it, is the idea of doing a new story on the big canvas of three movies in this world. There’s just so much potential and I can’t wait to jump into it.”

Today, we got a big clue about who D.J. really is. A new Portuguese TV spot has been released, which reveals that D.J. seemingly has ties to the First Order.

The TV spot is largely comprised of footage that we've seen before in the first two trailers, but one of the few new shots features DJ glaring an at unspecified character, which by itself wouldn't be terribly meaningful, however, in the background, we can clearly see a battalion of Stormtroopers,

No Lando in Star Wars: The Last Jedi, according to director Rian Johnson

With Star Wars: The Force Awakens feeling like a reunion, of sorts, with the series’ iconic characters, it’s natural to hope for even more cameos in Star Wars: The Last Jedi, and one such character is Lando Calrissian.

Given the character’s upcoming appearance in Solo: A Star Wars Story, played by Donald Glover, it feels like a great time to catch up with Billy Dee Williams smooth talking smuggler. Well, for those hoping to see Lando in the upcoming film, prepared to be disappointed.

Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, The Last Jedi director Rian Johnson is mincing no words on the potential of Lando making an appearance:

“No, and I don’t want fans to get their hopes up. He’s not in the film, and it was never really something that came up. I mean, I loved that character. It would have been fun to see him, but

Star Wars: The Last Jedi’s Rian Johnson Remains Coy About Potential Skywalker Reunion

Entertainment Weekly continues to peel back the many layers of Star Wars: The Last Jedi.

From Poe and Leia’s ironclad bond to the erratic Kylo Ren, the outlet has left no stone unturned in its coverage of the upcoming Star Wars sequel, and the spotlight has now turned toward the Skywalker twins: Luke and Leia.

Together with Han Solo, they were the anchor points of Lucasfilm’s original trilogy. And yet, the star-crossed duo spent the entirety of The Force Awakens on opposite ends of the galaxy, as Luke Skywalker’s exile drove him all the way to the remote Oceanic planet known as Ahch-To. He is, in the words of Mark Hamill, a “broken warrior” once The Last Jedi begins, but the question remains: will Rian Johnson’s follow-up signal a reunion for the Leia and her long-lost brother? Turns out it’s not as simple as it sounds.
