I've been making a compilation CD to give to my friends so they can appreciate film music more. I decided the "theme" of my CD would be the months of the year (since seasons have been done before, of course). A lot of the tracks don't directly represent a time of year, but they're based on the feelings I get when I listen to them. As you can see, February and March are a bit gloomy, April and May have some bright and classic-ly pieces, and June has a "water" theme.
Yes, I'm missing Max Steiner, Franz Waxman, Hans Zimmer and others, but whatever. I'm including pieces that I like and that the average person might not have heard before, (unlike - e.g, Star Wars, Titanic, LOTR, etc.)
Here's the first half:
January
1. "End Titles" - Snow Falling on Cedars, James Newton Howard
2. "A Kaleidoscope of Mathematics" - A Beautiful Mind, James Horner
3. "Elegy for Dunkirk" - Atonement, Dario Marianelli

2. "Road to Chicago" - Road to Perdition, Thomas Newman
3. "Lullaby" - Pan's Labyrinth, Javier Navarrette

May
1. "Where is Mr. Barrie?" – Finding Neverland, Jan A.P. Kaczmarek
2. "Secrets of the Castle" – Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, John Williams
3. "Journey to Fort Sedgewick" and "Two Socks – The Wolf Theme" – Dances with Wolves, John Barry
